Kennedy, F. C. Kimball absent: Joseph Leary The Council met for the purpose of approving the band of Mr. J. Earle Boyce as City Treasurer, and on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded .by R. P. Howell, it was moved that the bond of Mr. J. Earle Boyce be accepted, upon the following roll call vote: Apes: '01. H. Brazil, R. P. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball Noes: None ybsent: Joseph Leary On motion of R. P. Huriell, seconded by .% H. Brazil, the meeting adjourned. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball Absent: Joseph Leary. The minutes of May 4th, 11th and the Special Called meeting of May 13th were read and approved as read. The following applications for permit to build were granted on cnotion of R. 1'. - owell, seconded by `6. q, brazil: Roy Vincent - Addn. of dining nook - Lot 1, Block 173, Eallidet Tr. Hickenbottom - Remodel res. Lot 5, B1_:. 172, Dallidet Tract, it 300.00 The petition of the Neon Sales & Service for permit to hang a neon sign for the Labor 'Temple at 1.530 Monterey St. was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion of P. P. noweli, seconded by 71. H.Brazi] The application of Bert T. Munk for permit to connect with sewer on Caudill Street bet,Neen Broad and Lawton Streets was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil; work, to be done cinder the supervision of the City Engineer. Communication received from Ed Leitner asking permission to cancel his.busines; license for the duration of the war and to renew same after the war without posting anothe bond. The request was granted on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy. Communication received from Rev. James M. Alley asking permission to place a si2;nboard on the church property on Marsh Street. Same was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by ` ;V. H. Brazil. Notification received froc the State Board of Equalization. for transfer of "Off Sale Distilled Spirits" and "Off.Sale Beer and Aline" from Fred K. Brown at 1020 1 1 1 1 1 ri 1 Railroad Ave. to Fred K.• Brown and Margaret Doyle at 1026 Morro St. Same was ordered received and filed. A bill was received from the Channel Counties Regional League for membership dues for 1942 in the amount of $7.50. Same was ordered paid on motion of R. F. Howell, seconded by Ralph C.Kennedy. The transfer of license from Boriack Bros. for garage at 1005 Monterey St. to a1 Calkins was granted on motion of 'v7. H. Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy. Petition received by the employees of the City of San Luis Obispo, Public Works Dept., re- questing an increase in salary. Same was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works, R.P.Howell, for consideration, on motion of 6v, H. Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy. The report -of the City Clerk for the month of April, 1942 was ordered received and filed. Ordinance No. 241 (New Series) - An Ordinance providing for the control of food and drink establishments in the City of San Luis Obispo and providing penalties for the violation of such or- dinance was finally passed on motion of `I. H.Brazil, seconded by Ralph C..Kennedy upon the following roll call vote: Ayes: 'i`.H.Brazil, R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball Noes: None Absent: Joseph Leary Re: Applications for City Licenses for Thelma Ibanez and George Mamaril were again held over. Resolution No. 665 (New Series) - A Resolution Fixing the Salary of the Building Inspector a monthly salary in the sum of $25.00 was passed and adopted on motion of N. H. brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell upon the following roll call vote: Ayes:.JJ.H.Brazil, R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball Noes: None absent: Joseph Leary On motion of 'd!: H. Brazil, seconded by R. F. Howell, it was moved that the City of San Luis Obispo enter into a contract with Lippold Engineering Co. for chlorine gas for the new Sewage Treatment klant for 6000 lbs: of chlorine gas as outlined in Mr. Jenk's letter and that the city Engineer, Leonard Lenger, submit this contract. Motion carried. On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil, the meeting adjourned to May 25, 19429 upon the following vote: Ayes: `v'.H.Brazil, R.P. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy'; F. C.
