Present: W.H.Brazil, R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball, Joseph Leary Absent: None ` _93 The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of R.P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil: George & Flora Siler - Addn. of bedroom; Ft Lots 10 -1012 Blk 169 Central Addn. Cost 175.00 Carmine H. Lopez Swarthout - Canopy roof over car - Lot 8, Blk 66 Mission Orchard Tract - " 45.00 The application for transfer of license of Truesdale Grocery at 1725 Broad Street to Lettie C.- Ditler was granted on motion of 'P!. H. Brazil, seconded by R.P.Howell. The Merchandising Bond of John D. Campbell dba Refrigeration Service, in the amount of $200.00 with the Sun Indemnity Co. as surety was received-and on rnotion of R.P.Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil, the surety was accepted, bond approved and license ordered issued. Notification from the State Board of Equalization under date of September 140 1942 re: "Off Sale Beer and Wine "License for Robert F. McCue 1901 Broad Street.dba "Mac's Grocery ", was ordered received and filed on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R.P. Howell. A Resolution providing for salary payroll deduction of city employees was presented to the Council. Matter discussed and held over until the next meeting. Re: Communication from the City of Los Angeles relative to the proposed Constitutional Amendment making a request for one -half cent out of three cents sales tax was again held over. The City Collector's uncollected license list for the July Quarter ivas re- ferred back to the Police Department for collection. Commissioner R.P. Howell was authorized to make the necessary contacts to acquire sites for soldiers shelter and "pick -up" stations. Commissioner Ralph C. Kennedy reported bidsfor the City's Automobile Fleet insurance have been called for September 28, 1942. On motion of R. F. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil, the meeting adjourned to September 28, 1942 at 7:30 P. M. upon the following roll call vote: Ayes: tN.H.Brazil; R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C.
