Resolution No. 687 (Nevi Series) - A Resolution of the City Council of the City of San Luis Obispo proposing two amendments to the charter of the City of San Luis Obispo and providing for the submission of such amendments to the qualified electors of said city for adoption and ratification at the General Municipal Election to be held on the 5th day of April, 1943, was introduced and adopted on motion of :,'.H.Brazil, seconded by R. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball, Joseph Leary Absent: None The minutes of February 15, 1943 were read and approved as read. The application of Dorothy R. Friddle for fence vias held over. On motion of R. P. Hovjell, seconded by 1.7. T-I. Brazil the following permits were granted: Albert A. Bay - alterations in bldg. Lot 69 Blk. 31, Central Addn. 200.00 Sidewalk and curbing Lester Hacker - 50 ft. of sidewalk on the east side of North Broad St. between Mt. View and Lincoln Streets, Emma Righter - 120 ft. of sidewalk and curbing on the north side of Marsh St. between Ida and Grove Streets. The petition filed by D. S. Rosa for permit to remove t�i!o trees in front of 958 Pismo St. was referred to the Commissioner of Public i7orks, with power to act. The application of Union Oil Co. for permit to renevi one pole on Monterey St. between Essex and.Johnson Ave. was granted on motion of Ralph -C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil; work to be done under the supervision of the Engineering Department. The transfer of license for restaurant from Lela Hall, 178 Higuera St. to Memphis Carter and the application for Soft Drinks license was referred to the Commissionerl of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion of W.R. Communication received from Mrs. Elfrida E. Beckett of Arroyo Grande under date of Feb. 19, 1943 re: traffic control signs, was ordered received and filed. Claims against the city for the month of February 1943 were ordered paid, . subject to the approval of the heads of the respective departments and the Mayor. Communication received from Edward F. Boyle, Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart re: cigarette fund was ordered received and filed on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil. J. A. Bardin petitioned the Council for transfer of Jones Transportation Bus Franchise; matter was referred to the City Attorney for investigation and study and report back to the Council, on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by R. P. Howell. Application of Mary C. Lynch for city license to conduct Lodging House at 1301 1-1orro St. was granted on notion of 11. Ii. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell. Re: Communication from Chief 'I. L. Payton relative to 71. 0. 7.7. hall : ^JAS again held over. Joseph Leary made a motion requesting Ralph C. Kennedy and City Attorney M. 116 Fitzgerald to produce all communications referring to the franchise of the Southern Counties Gas Co. and the Pacific Gas and Electric before the city council. Motion lost. On motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by VV. H. Brazil, the copy of letter tten to the Pacific Gas and Electric Co. by Ralph C.
