Petition filed by Henry Gilarti for underground gasoline storage tank .on

The application of Rose S. Davis for city license to operate a Lodging House
at 1219 Osos St. Sias referred to the Commissioner of Public health and Safety. on motion
of R. P. Fo, ^jell, seconded by 'r% H. Brazil.
The application filed by Russell Bros. Circus for permission to conduct a
circus on Hay 15th and 16th9 1943 was granted on motion of H. Brazil, seconded by
R. F. F•otaell.
On motion of R. P. Powell, seconded by ':i. _ =. Brazil, the follo�-:ing communicatio
were ordered received and filed:-

Notification from the State Board of Equalization for transfer of license for
"On Sale Beer and i. -inet and "On Sale Distilled Spirits" from Dante Chiesa & Charles J.
Cates at 993 Higuera St. to Dante Chiesa dba "Dante's" at 955 Higuera Street;
Notification from the State Board of Equalization for license for "Off Sale
Beer and Wine" to Joseph E.- )uaresma dba New Park Grocery at 1401 Osos St.

Re: Communication from the Pacific Gas and Electric Co. relative to franchise;
after discussion the following resolution was adopted:
resolution No. 689 (New Series) A Resolution submitting to the qualified
electors of the City of San Luis Obispo the cuestion as to whether or not an Electric
Franchise sho ld be granted to Pacific Gas and Electric Company was passed and adopted
on motion of R. F: Howell, seconded by ;;i. H. Brazil upon the fo11oring vote:

2 350 Commissioner Joseph Leary made a motion requesting the publication of both
the Southern Counties -Gas Co. and the Pacific Gas and Electric Co. proposed franchise
published three times in the Telegram- Tribune and once in the Independent. I:iotion lost.
The following petitions for nominations of candidates for the respective
offices to be voted on at the General Municipal and Consolidated Charter amendment.
Election, to be held -in the City of San Luis Obispo, Monday April 51 1943, vaere presented
to the Council and ordered placed on file.

The matter of the Election Proclamation for the General Municipal Election
end Consolidated Charter Amendment Election to be held in the City of San Luis Obispo on
Monday, April 5, 1943 was now taken up; Election precinct polling places were- officially
designated, election officers ,�jere appointed and it was moved by 171. H. Brazil, seconded
by R. P. Howell that the Election Proclamation be adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: '4'1.H. Brazil, R.P. -Ho -jell, F. C. Kimball, Joseph Leary
Noes: None
Absent: Ralph C. Kennedy
The application of Dorothy B. Friddle for fence was held over.
Petition_ of D. S. Rosa for permission to remove tvio trees in front of 958
Pismo St. was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by `J. H. Brazil.
The transfer of license of Mrs. Lela Hall for Restaurant License at 178
Hi =-uera St. to Memphis & Olivia Carter, and application of Memphis Carter for Soft
Drinks was granted on motion of 'VV. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell.

On motion of H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell the meeting adjourned to
March 29, 1943 at 7:30 P.M.
