The minutes of August 2nd and August 9th, 1943 were read and approved as read.
The application of M. Marshall for permit to repair building on part of Lots
1 -2 -3, Block 117 -A, Murray & Church Addn. at a cost of 5150.00 was granted on motion of
R.P.Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy.
The following miscellaneous applications..were granted on motion of R. P.

H. J. Dubin - Repair sidewalk on the North side of Palm St. between
Toro and Essex Streets.

On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy the transfer of license

Texaco Service was granted.
On motion of R. P. Hoael1, seconded by Joseph Leary, the following matters
were ordered received and filed:

A letter was received from the California Mission Trails Association under
I date of August 5th, asicing the City for a N50 donation for advertising program and on
motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by Joseph Leary, it was ordered received and filed -
Clyde T. O'Nan voting "No ", and the City Clerk was instructed to unite a letter informing
them the request�,:!as denied.
Communications were received from the County Health Department, Fire Chief
and State Housing Development regarding condition of the Elmo Rooms at 103 Santa Barbara
Ave., and on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy the City Attorney
was instructed to take steps toward revoking the license, notifying the owner that
eptember 7, 1943 was set as the date for a hearing on the matter.
Communication received from the Housing Authority of Paso Robles re: sewer
service for the t:o housing projects; same was referred to the City Engineer, Kenneth
Beck for reply.
' On motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by R. P. Howell the City Clerk was
authorized to draw - warrant on the Victory Tax-Fund in the amount of $1123.82 in favor
of Collector of Internal Revenue in payment for Victory tax withheld for second and final
quarter.
This being the date fixed by the Council for receiving bids for the rental of
real estate armed by the City of San Luis Obispo ( more particularly described in
Agreement between City of San Luis Obispo and the Idetals Reserve Company) submitted by
the Metals Reserve Company at a rental of $200 per year, and on motion of Ralph C.
Kennedy, seconded by Joseph Leary, it was moved to accept the bid of the Metals Reserve
Company for the rental of said property at $200 per year, and the Mayor was authorized
to sign said Agreement. Motion carried.
The following applications were granted on motion of Joseph Leary, seconded
by R. P. Howell:

On motion of Joseph Leary, seconded by R.P.Ho,lell, the application of Mary
Merifno for license to practice palmistry was denied.
Re: Communication from Pss. .,'.1\T. Hart at 1628 Hlonterey St. presenting claim
against the city in the amount of T950 for fire damage caused by the city burning crew was
denied on motion of Joseph Leary, seconded by R.P.Howe11.
Re: Communication received from County Board of Supervisors asking the city
Ito purchase miscellaneous supplies for the decontamination station and on motion of
Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by R. P. Howell the Commissioner of Supplies was instructed
Ito purchase the necessary supplies. Joseph Leary voting "Nor'.
