Present: R.P. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, Joseph Leary Absent: Mayor F. C. Kimball, Clyde T. O'Nan The minutes of October 4th, 1943 were read and approved as read. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by Joseph Leary: Frank Garcia - Storeroom for feed; Lot 25, Blk. 3, McBride Tr. Cost 48.00 Jose Zabala - Addn. of bedroom -,Lot 24, B1k 3; McBride Addn. " 300.00 Arley Gill - Remodel Garage and sleeping rooms above; Pt. Lot 4, Block 55, M & C. Addn. " 200.00 On motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by Joseph Leary the following appli- cations for sidewalk and curbing were granted with the provision that the work be done under the supervision of the engineering department: John F. Fitzpatrick - 128 ft. of sidewalk on the west side of Morro St. between Higuera and Marsh .Streets Edward J. Lee - 50 ft. of sidewalk on the west side of Hutton St. between Branch and Sandercock Streets, C. W. Palmer - 20 ft. of sidewalk, curb and ramp for driveway on the west side of Essex St. between Higuera and Monterey Street. Mrs. Marjorie E. Garvin- 372 ft. of sidewalk and curbing on the east side of Santa Rosa St. between Leff and S.P. R.R. The application of Gin Hing and Gow Gin for Restaurant license at 815 Palm St. was granted on motion of Joseph Leary, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy. The following applications for city licenses were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by Joseph Leary:- Mary Merino - Miller Adams- Palmistry License n n 993 Higuera St. 1021 Morro St. The application of Coony & Winterbottom Inc. for registration as a class "C" contractor together with Hartford Accident and Indemnity'Coe bond in the amount of $2000 and registration fee of $50 received and on motion of Ralph C. Kainedy, seconded by Joseph Leary it was ordered that the surety be accepted, bond approved and registration granted. The communication received from the Division.of Highways regarding traffic survey made at,Santa Rosa and Iviarsh St. for traffic control was referred to the Com- missioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by Joseph Leary. The Official Bond of Lee Johnson as Captain of Police in the amount of $1000 with the U. S. Fidelity and Guaranty Co. as surety, was received and on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by Joseph Leary, same was accepted and approved by the Council.
