Howell, seconded by Ralph C: Kennedy; work- to be done under the supervision of the Engineering Department: Angela M. Jensen - 50 ft. of sidewalk on the north side of Buchon St. betvreen Santa Rosa and Toro Streets Frank Adler - 75 ft. of sidewalk on the west side of Carmel St. between Pacific and Pismo Streets The petition of P:iary F. Ritchey requesting the City of San Luis Obispo to remove the Eucalyptus trees on Fig St..between Morro and Chorro Streets was referred to the City Attorney to check and determine who;, holds title to the property. Johnson requesting the City to place a "City Limits" marker on Johnson °.ve. was ordered received and filed pending a survey to determine the actual limits of the city, on motion of Joseph Leary, seconded by R. P. Howell. The report received fro;:: the Pacific Gas and Electric Co. showing the Company earnings for the year of 194: together �;aith a check in the amount of "395.99 being the amount due the City of San Luis Obispo for the period from September 15th to December 31st, 1943 inclusive was ordered received and filed and check accepted on motion of Ralph. �._.,Kennedy, seconded by R. P. Howell - Joseph Leary voting "No", claiming it a violation of Article XVI of Section 102. Mr. Norman . -Veber was appointed Special Police Officer without compensation from the City of San Luis Obispo as outlined under Sec. 5 of Ordinance No. 5 (New Series). Resolution No. 720 (New Series) - A Resolution.providing for a General and Uniform inc -T-ease in compensation to officers and employees of the City of San Luis Obispo was passed and adopted on motion of Ralph C. Ken nedy, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan upon the following vote: Ayes: R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball, Joseph Leary, Clyde T. O'Nan Noes: None. Absent: None Commissioner Joseph Leary presented a request from Carl Pence asking the return of several items which he had found in a stolen car. The City Attorney ruled that under the la•ra a _rerson linding any article must file a claim for it ;with the Justice of the Peace t,,aithin a limited time after finding it. The Justice of the Peace must have it appraised and if the value is more than 40)20 it must be advertised and if not called for within a year the finder may keep the property. Councilman R.P. Howell asked the Council's permission to sell an abandoned redwood tangy: not used by the city, stating he had received an offer of $25. He was instructed by the Council to accept the offer. Commissioner R. P. Howell stated he planned to have the week of Play 8th declared "City Clean -Up Vleek ". On motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan, the meeting adjourned.
