The City Council met in adjourned session - Mayor F. C. Kimball presiding.
Present: R.P. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball,Joseph Leary, Clyde T. O'Nan
Absent: None
The contract on chlorine for 1945 from Luippold Engineering Sales Company was
referred to the Commissioner of Public 'sVorks. for estimate of required amount, on motion of
Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by Joseph Leary.
Application of Southern Counties Gas Co. for permit to do certain street work
was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy, with the provision
that work be done under the supervision of the City Engineering Department.
The petition of J. E. Huffman asking permission to run water line across Brook
St. was granted on motion of R. P.. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy.
The communication from California Polytechnic School re: fire equipment in
case of emergency to serve outside of the city limits was held over awaiting report of the
Commissioner of Finance and the City Attorney,
Re: Communication from the Green Bus Service relative to the condition of
Plurray Ave., 1100 Block, was ordered received and filed, the work having been completed.
Re: Communication from B. S. Bauman, relative to condition of gutter in the
1100 Block on Pismo Street; the matter was referred to Commissioner R. P. Howell and the
City Attorney for action and communication was ordered received and filed on motion of
R. 1. Howell, seconded by halph C. LHennedy.
Notification from the State Board of Equalization for "On Sale Distilled
Spirits" and "On Sale Beer and ;'line" issued to Chas. Ashbaugh, 142 Higuera St. and tran
of same to Roy Powell and Rudolph hlarbhall at same location was referred to the City
Attorney and the Chief of Police with instructions to protest.
Ordinance No. 257 (New Series) - I'm Ordinance providing for the Lease of
certain real property owned by the City of San Luis Obispo was finally passed on motion
of R. P. Howell, seconded by Ralph 0. Kennedy upon the following roll call vote:
Ayes: R. P. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball, Joseph Leary, -Clyde T. O'Nan
Noes: None
Absent: None
The form of lease presented by the City Attorney calling for public auction
of lease for property known as the City Sewer Farm was approved and on motion of R. P.
Howe'll, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy the City Clerk was instructed to call for bids.
Bids to be received by the City Council of the City of San Luis Obispo at its meeting to
be held on Nov. 20th, 1944 at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P. 11.
On motion of R. P. Howell,seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan the meeting adjourned.
