The following petitions were granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by

The application of Don E. Williams for Restaurant License at 1088 Higuera
Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, with power to act,
on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan.

Communication from Elizabeth C. Hoffman and B. S. Bauman, together with
claim on the Administration Fund in the amount of $103.82 dated March 5th, 1945 relative
to personal injury sustained was referred to the City Attorney for investigation and repo
on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Joseph Leary.
Communication from the Chamber of Commerce Re: City License Ordinance and
suggesting that a new license ordinance be adopted, was referred to the Commissioner
Ralph C. Kennedy for investigation and report.
Communication from the S.L.O. Planning Commission enclosing County Reso-
lution Re: Shore Line Planning Association, asking the city of San Luis Obispo to adopt
a 2esolution endorsing the action of the State Legislature relative to the appropriation 1
of 15,000,000 to the State Park Commission etc.; matter discussed and the City Attorney
was asked to prepare Resolution and present same to the Council.
The following applications received for position of City Sanitary Inspector,
and on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan, same were referred to the
Commissioner of Public Health and Safety to check with the Health Department to obtain
their recom-aendation as to tie appointment and salary schedule:

The following petitions for nominations of candidates for the respective
offices to be voted on at the General Municipal and Consolidated Charter Amendment election,
to be held in the City of San Luis Obispo, Monday, April 2, 1945 were presented to the
Council and ordered placed on file.

The matter of the Election Proclamation for the General idunicipal Election
and Consolidated Charter Amendment Election to be held in the City of San Luis Obispo
on Monday. April 2nd, 1945 was now taken up; Election precinct Polling Places were
officially designated, election officers were appointed and it was moved by R. P. Howell,
seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan that the Election Proclamation be adopted by the following vote
Ayes: R.P.Ho1ve11, Ralph C. K=ennedy, F. C. Kimball, Joseph Leary, Clyde T. O'Nan
Noes: None
Absent: None
The Merchandising Bond in the amount of $200 of Bert Slatin, an individual
and The London & Lancashire Indemnity Co. of America, a Corporation, as security, was
referred to the Commissioner of Finance and the City Attorney for action on motion of
R. P.' Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy.
The following matters were held over:

The petition of Smee Plumbing Co. to open trench.at 1302 First St. for
seder connection was granted on motion of R. P. Ho:�jell, seconded by Clyde T. O'T?an;
word: to be done under the supervision of the City Engineering Department.
Re: Communication from Vim. L. Payton, requesting he be transferred from
his position 'as Fire Chief and to be placed in charge of all city electrical equipment
such as Fire Alarm System, Street traffic signals, etc. and hoping arrangements can be
made so as not to interfere with his pension rights, and submitting his resignation as
Fire,Chief as outlined above, and on motion of Joseph Leary, seconded by R. P. Howell,
it was moved his resignation be accepted as of h -larch 15th, 1945.
The application of F. C. Kimball for sidewalk, curbing and gutter for a
distance of leO ft. on the No. side of Pismo St. between High and Walker Street was
denied on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy,
Gommissioner::R.L•P. Howell'-presented a Proposed Post War Public Works
Program outlining six projects totalling $904,502, and on motion of R. P.. Howell,
seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan it was ordered it be accepted and approved as amended.
Joseph Leary voting "No".
On notion of Ralph C. "Hennedy, seconded by R. P. Howell, the meeting
adjourned. G
