from the United States of America was passed and adopted on motion of R. P. Howell,
seconded by Ralph C. n_ennedy upon the following roll call vote:

On motion of Joseph Leary,'seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy, the base pay of Miss
Charlotte Eiller was raised to ��150.00 per month; .base pay of Evelyn Rothberg to 85¢
Der hour and 80� per hour for extra help , as of April 1, 1945. Motion carried.
Ed Boyle, representing the Disabled Veterans and Order of the Purple Heart
appeared before the City Council and sugGested the City build a ..Tar memorial Piionument to
display the names of 'dorld War No. II heroes and recum.mended a central location, such as
the City Park for the monument. The IEayor and Council approved the memorial and appointed
Commissioner O'Nan and Commissioner Kennedy to work with the veterans organizations on the
plan.
On motion of �-oseph Leary, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan the meeting adjourned to
Thursday, at 7:30 P. M. April 5, 1945.

The application of "d. F. Breeden for building permit for addition to garage on
Lot 32, Block 1, Caudill Tract at a cost of $200 was granted on motion of R.P.Howell,
seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan.
The application of the Southern Counties Gas Co. for permit to make repairs
on miscellaneous streets was granted on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by Joseph
Leary.

Police Judges report for the month of Larch
The request of P.Z. F. Andre for loading zone in the 11100 block on Broad St. was
referred to Commissioner Joseph Leary for investigation and report.

Communication from Meade ,`I; Eaton was ordered received and filed.
In accordance with the provisions of the City Charter regulations, the
Uouncil acting as a canvassing Board, now proceeded to canvass returns of the General
Municipal and Consolidated Charter Amendment Election held on Monday, April 2, 1945.
Tabulation following shows result of vote cast at such election and as 'canvassed by the
City Council. The number of votes cast at such election being 2894 within the City
of San Luis Obispo and lag in the Consolidated precincts outside the City, voting on
School Directors only.
