O'Nan. Petition filed by Church of Christ to erect sign in the 100 Block, Santa Rosa.St. was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded-by Fred L. Gist. Petition filed by Clines Electric Shop to hang Neon Sign for Baker and Roberts at Pacific and Higuera St. was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and 1 Safety, with power to act, on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Fred L. Gist. Application filed by Rose's Eat Shop for Cigars Sideline at 723 Marsh St, was granted on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by R. P. Howell. The application of Joseph Schuck ( Schuck Construction Co. ) for registration as "Class E ".Contractor together with U.S.Fide lity and Guaranty Co. Bond in the amount of $500 and registration fee of $15.00 received and on motion of Fred L. Gist,seconded by R. P. Howell, it was ordered that the surety be accepted, bond approved and registration granted. Notification from the State Board of Equalization for transfer of "On Sale Beer" license f mom Vim. M. vIallace dba Sandwich Shop to Frank,Yeary, 850 Marsh St. was received and filed on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by G. W. Baker. The application of Ed Lee for Skill Ball Parlor at 886 Monterey St. was withdrawn by petitioner. Communication received from L'Ietals Reserve Co. Re: Renewal Lease Option dated Aug. 16th, 1943 covering premises ( stockpile site) - same was ordered filed on motion of G. ad.Baker, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan. Petition filed by Vera Hansen requesting permission to remove trees from ' parkway at 1126 sill St. was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, secon d ed by Fred L. Gist. License {3473 issued to:Harry Black for Truck License in the amount of $4.00 for the April 1945 quarter was cancelled by Council on motion of Fred L. Gist, seconded by G. 1.4. Baker. 396 Application of Coast Counties warehouse for permit to build a warehouse ( remodel and repair present bldg.) on part of Block 153, Harford Addn. at a cost of $4500 was grantedon motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G. 111. Baker. The petition filed by Santos A. Leguina to install guy wire over sidewalk on Mill at Nipomo St. was granted on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by R. P. Howell. The petition filed by San Luis Ice and Cold Storage Co. for permit to open trench across Nalker Street to lay Amonia line was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seeondad by G.V-1. Baker. Communication from F. P. G. A. Re: the exclusive use of Ward Street as in- dicated on property line map was referred to the City Clerk for reply. The following matters :-sere held over: Communication from League of California Cities Re: Federal Funds pp ica ion of Lyda 4lelsh for sidewalk wall Proposal and contract for Gasoline from Seaside Oil Co. was ordered received and filed on motion of G. V1. Baker, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan. The following applications and petitions were denied, without prejudice. Mrs. Angelina Caccia - 50 ft. of 4 ft. sidewalk `Pricco - 200 ftl of '4 ft. " on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan; also, Julius Schwartz- petition for Bingo Game at 2700 Block Broad St. was denied on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by R. P. Howell. The application of Eric Wi.ckenden for Lodging House at 1026 Chorro St. ( filed Oct. 21, 1943) was again referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G.W.Baker. City Attorney, George L. Andre, presented the Garbage Contract Agreement and on motion of G. ' „r. Baler, seconded by Clyde T. O'N44sit was approved by the Council and filed with the City Clerk. On motion of Fred L. Gist, seconded.by G. ':i. Baker, the City Clerk was authorized to advertise for sealed bids for the collection and disposal of garbage; said bids to be opened and read before the Council.on July 16, 1945 at the hour of 7:30 P.M. On motion,of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by G.i1.Baker, Paul Gifford was hired as experienced Police .Officer on a day basis at a base pay of 4175.00 per month.a4-cA� J On motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, it was moved that Paul Gifford be appointed as a regular experienced police officer at a base pay of $175.00 per month as of July_ist, 19/15. On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G.
