The minutes of Oct. 1st and Oct. 8th, 1945 were read and approved
as read.

The petition of G. F. Hudgens for permit to lay and construct a concrete
culvert on Mill St. between Park and Grove Streets and petition of J. R. Hutchison for
permit to grade and pave with plant mix from garage to curb for driveway on Lot 19,
Block 4 were referred to the Comniissione.r of Public ,forks for investigation and report on
motion of F. L. Gist, seconded by G. W. Baker.
The following applications for sidewalk and curbing were referred to the
Commissioner of= Public Ifiorks, with power to act:
J. 71. Wilkinson - 25 ft. of 10 ft. sidewalk on the East.side of Carmel St.
between Higuera and Marsh Streets
American Refrigeration Co- 132 ft, sidewalk and ramp and gutter on the South side of
Pismo St. between Walker and Archer Streets.
The application of I. 0. 0. F. to fill in the present ramped driveway and
open up a new twenty foot driveway for a distance of 45 ft, on the North si.1e of Marsh
St. between Chorro and Morro Streets was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by
F. L. Gist.
The following applications for business licenses were referred to the Com-
missioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report:

The following communications were ordered received and filed on motion

Rachel St. was read to the Council Re: Osos Street Railroad Crossing; the matter was
referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report.
The City Clerk was instructed to call for Bids for Public Auction of the
Laguna Ranch Property; bids to be opened Oct. 29, 1945 at 7 o'clock P.P.A. on motion of
G. W. Baker, seconded by F. L. Gist.
This being the date fixed by the Council as per minute order of Sept.
24, 1945 and in accordance with published notice for receiving bids for furnishing to
the City of San Luis Obispo material necessary for the new Fire Alarm System; the follow-
ing bid was submitted:

On motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by G -11. Baker, the bid was awarded
to the Gamewell Co. for $3015.96; payment to be made out of the Public Improvement and
Betterment Fund, upon the following roll call vote:

On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G. W. Baker, Commissioner Clyde T.
O'Nan was authorized to have the proper alterations made at the fire house to.accomodate
the new equipment.
The petition of Pat Gallagher to hang sign at 586 Higue ra St, was granted
on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by R. P. Howell.
The petition of F. H. McBee requesting Loading zone at 1131 Broad St. was
denied on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by R. P. Howell.
