The City Council approved payment of warrant payable to Brown, Doko and Baun in the amount of X9831.45 for final payment on contract, for the Improvement of honterey, Hib,uaraI Santa Rosa and Marsh Streets. Communication from S. C. Schultz, Asst. City Engineer, regarding bill rendered v Smee's Plur_ibinp: Co. for - renairing water line at 1330 Ir_onter•ey St; the work being ` uthorized by owner of the above property ( J. Hoertlein ) same was denied on motion of . P. Howell, secnnded by F. L. Gist. L. E. HcDougal appeared before the Co�ahcil to inquire why the Council did not favor the placing of parking :Deters in the city and -kwas informed by the Council that the public ,vas strongly opposed to it. The application of Julius Schwartz for building permit for booths and glassed Liedpatio around restaurant, Lots 1 and 2. Block 109 I +I. V. Tract at a cost d $4000 was denied on motion of R. P. tio:,vell, seconded by G. '' +'1. Baker. On motion of R.• P. i- oje11, seconded by G.�'1.Baker, the City Clerk was instructed lo return the building fee of $12.00 paid by Julius Schwartz on the above petition. The application of 'JI.F. Ross for ramp, sidewalk an(� curbing for a distance of 100 ft. on Monterey St. between Henderson and Abbott Streets was denied, without prejudice, On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by F. L. Gist. The petition filed by G. F. Hudgens for permission to construct 70 ft. of culvert was held over.
