Resolution No. 759 (New Series).- A Resolution absorbing war time 44
increases of salaries into base salaries was.passed and adopted on motion of R.P.Howell,
seconded by F. L.Gist upon the following roll call vote:
Ayes: G.W.Baker, F.L.Gist, R.P.Hol:aell, Ralph C. Kennedy, Clyde T. O'Nan
Noes: None'
Absent: None
On motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by F. L. Gist, Cecyle H. Jones was
hired as Police L:atron and Clerk at a salary of .50 per month as of Feb. 1st, -1946.
The City Clerk was instructed to write a letter of thanks and appreciation
to C. L. Smith and.T. W. Herbert for their assistance in helping Commissioner Fred L.
Gist in making the re- a -,,praisal survey of delinquent tax properties within the city
of San Luis Obispo and a special vote of thanks was given to F.L.Gist by the Mayor and
Council for his work in this undertaking.
The City Clerk was also instructed to write a letter of thanks ( authorized
by the Council) of the acceptance of a large photograph of the City of San Luis Obispo,
as presented to the city by Mr. Allan Fesler of the Southern Counties Gas Co.
On motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by G.W.Baker, the City Clerk was granted a
$30 car allowance as of Feb: 1st, 19460
On motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by G.W. Balser, the meeting adjourned
to Feb. llth,'1946.

The application of Ed White for permit to lay sidewalk,curb and gutter
for a distance of 50 ft. on the west side of Lawton St. between Caudill and Mitchell
Streets, on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan; work to be done under the
supervision of the city engineering department and to conform with walks in the neighbor-
hood.
The petition of A. 1.7. Tiemann to install four underground gasoline tanks
( 1000 gal. capacity) each on Lot A.in Block 30 was granted on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan,
seconded by R. P. Howell; work to comply with existing ordinance and fire underwriters.

Mayor Kennedy appointed the following members to serve on the Planning
Commission:
Dr. H. B. Kirtland to succeed himself from June 5, 1945 to June 5, 1949
H. B. Douglas to serve from June 5, 1945 to June 5,"1949
The above appointments were approved by the Council upon the following roll call vote:

On motion of F. L. Gist, seconded by G. 'id. Baker, the Planning Commission
was authorized to spend up to $30U to cotter the cost of necessary maps for proper zoning
of the city and the City Clerk was instructed to approve the warrants to be paid out of
the Public Improvement and Betterment Fund.
On motion of R. P. Hornell, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan it was ordered the
City subscribe -por membership in the Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference Bulletin
Service in the amount of $30.00.
