Present: G.W.Baker, F.L.Gist, R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy Absent: Clyde T. O'Nan The Minutes of May 6th and May 7th were read and approved as read. This being the date fixed by the Council and in accordance with published notice for receiving bids for.the sale of Two Packard Police Cars to be sold at Public Auction, the following, sealed bids were received and publicly opened and read: 1 - Bid of Mrs. Genevieve Farmer - amount of bid 200.00.on Car No, 2 2 - TV TV Ralph B. Files, TV " TV 150.00 c� each on both cars 3 - " It Homer L. Wadhams, (Santa Margarita ) " 350.00 on Car No. 2 4 -'" ' " J. P. Hensley, Santa Maria " 500.00 on either car The bids were now opened and read and put up for public auction from the floor. II.I. Lenneberger of Long Beach Calif. bid on Car No. 1 in the amount of $1085. Leo Frenette of Atascadero, bid on Car No. 2 in the amount of $ 1125.00 On motion of G.W.Baker, seconded by F.L.Gist it was ordered that the bids of W. I. Lenneberger on Car No. 1 in the amount of $1085.00 and Bid of Leo Frenette of Atascadero on Car No. 2 in the amount of $1125.00 be accepted and sold to said parties and the City Clerk was instructed to transfer ownership.- Motion carried. On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by F. L. Gist, the following building permits were granted: H. H. Cox - Addn. of kitchen; Lot 100; Mt. Pleasanton Sq. Cost 800.00 R.H. Murphy- Res. and Garage; Lot C, Goldtree Tract " 5400.00 The following miscellaneous petitions were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, with power to act, on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by F. L. Gist: Petition of Modern Neon Sign Co. to install Neon sign for Depot Coffee Shop IT TV TV " " " " Sign at Daves Lunch ; 1732 Sta. Rosa St. " of Clim s Electric Co. to install sign at McClures Service, 2145 Broad St. .1 TV TV " Tasty Coffee Shop, 895 Higuera St. " " " " " " sign at Bello's Auto Store, 886 Monterey St. The application filed by Witcosky Co. asking permission to make 3 connections to main sevier; 1 mile south of City Limits on #101 Highway, onproperty adjoining city Disposal grounds - said sewer connections to serve 1 residence and disposal from slaughter house; said buildings located on lands known as portion of Lot 20 of the San Luis Obispo Suburban Tract in the County of San Luis Obispo was granted for the following:- Seaver connection to serve the residence and one sewer connection to serve the slughter house punt. The permission to connect the slaughter house for disposal of slaughter house sludge was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works, R.P.Howell, with power to Petition of H. L. LcLaughlin for permit to cut down treeat 536 Marsh St. was granted on motion of R: P. Howell, seconded by F. L. Gist. The petition of A. 0. Johnson for permit to put in a retaining wall at Toro and Peach St. for Mrs. Lola McNamara was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by F. L. Gist; work to be done under the supervision of the engineering department. to 480 Application of Severino Masdonati for permit to lay curb and gutter for Achille Storni for a distance of 64 ft. on the north side of Lincoln St. between Chorro and Broad Streets was granted on motion of R. P. Rowell, seconded by F. L.Gist with the provision that work be done under the supervision.of the engineering department. The applications of A. 0: Johnson for permit'to replace existing sidewalk and ramp for the Norwalk Oil Co. for a distance of 125 ft. on the west side of Santa Rosa St. between Higuera and Monterey Streets and 100 ft, on the north side of Higuera St. between Santa Rosa and Osos Streets was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works, with power to act, on motion of F. L. Gist, seconded by G. W. Baker. The applications of Dave Rouse for City License for Cigars Sideline, Soft Drinks and Lunch Counter at 1737 Santa Rosa St. were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, with power to act, on motion of F. L.�Gist, seconded by G. W. Baker. The certified check in the amount of $200 posted by C. D. Runyard, in lieu of bond to cover Merchandising License for Fire Extinguishers, dba "Nu Way Sales Co." at 785 marsh St. was a cceptedg. and license ordered issued on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by G. Id. Baker, as was also the Ye=chandising Bond of Steve Zegar, with Joseph B. Berkemeyei F. G. Sauer and A.A.Sauer as security, in lieu of bond, for Merchandising License for Furniture Store at Monterey and Chorro Streets. Notification received from the State'Board of Equalization for transfer of license for "On Sale Beer" license from v'lah quon & Arthur C.Wong to Francis & Helen R. Cullen at 1015 Chorro St. Communication from the Office of the Controller, State of California, Re: "In Lieu Tax Apportionments" was ordered received and filed. Communication from Vail S. Branson tendering his resignation as Police Officer was accepted and ordered filed on motion of G. 11. Baker, seconded by R. P. Howell. Permission was granted the AI+dVETS to hold a dance at the Mission Gym on 16, at 8 P,M. on motion of G.W.Baker, seconded by F.L.Gist. Communication from the Chamber of Commerce, togehter with Resolution asking the City of San Luis Obispo to endorse the plan for development of a small -craft harbor at Port San Luis, Avila, and on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by F. L. Gist, the following resolution was passed. RESOLUTION NO. 765 (New Series) - Resolution in the matter of Recreational Development, Harbor for Small Craft, and Picnic and Camping areas, in San Luis Obispo. Bay, at Avila, California was adopted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by F. L. Gist upon the following roll call vote: Ayes: G. IIV. Baker , F. L.Gist, R. P. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy Noes: None Absent: Clyde T. O'Nan Communication from the Dept. of Public iYorks, State of California, regarding the Cal Poly School water supply, requesting Agreement with the City for furnishing water to the school was ordered received and filed on motion of R.
