The City Council met in adjourned session; Mayor Ralph C.Kennedy presiding.
Present: G.W.Baker, F.L.Gist, R.P.Howell, Ralph.C. Kennedy
Absent: Clyde T. O'Nan
Communication from Dr. Benj. F. Loveall, Chairman of the Park, Playground
and Recreation Commission regarding the Park War Memorial Plans as submitted to the
Commission was ordered received and filed on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G.W.
Baker,
The City Clerk was authorized to spend the sum of not to exceed $15.00 for
decorating the City Hall for Fiesta Week.
Communication from W.E. McLennan spplying for position as City Engineer was
ordered received and .filed on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G. W. Baker.
By common consent of the Council, the Agreement entered into between the City
of San Luis Obispo and Chris Anholm, regarding the construction of water mains in the
Anholm Tract, stating that the total amount of refund from the party shall not be so
refunded within 5 years from the date of this Agreement, should be changed to 10 years
from date of Agreement,'and the Agreement initialed by the Mayor.
Petition of Harmony Valley requesting permission to install a drain and connect
with sewer drain at gutter line on the Dana St. side vias referred to the Commissioner of
Public 'Works, with power to act on motion of G. W.Baker, seconded by F. L.Gist.
Communication from the Department of Public Health, State of California,
regarding the condition of the Disposal Plant was ordered received and filed.
The City Clerk was instructed to advertise for Bids: said bids to be submitted
up to 7:30 o'clock P.M. on June 3rd, 1946, for the following automotive equipment:
Two - 1946 Four Door Sedans for-Police Department
One - 1946 Two Ton: Dump Truck, Standard Cab and chassis

The Commissioner of Public 17orks, R.P.Howell, was authorized to do the work

gether with extracts of their meeting of May 13th, held to decide on protests was ordered
received and filed on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded-by G. W.Baker.
Communication from the League of California Cities Re: The Construction
and Employment Act ( $90,400,000 City - County Bill) was ordered received and filed.
Petition of T. C. Doty requesting permission to place pop -corn wagon on the
streets of San Luis Obispo. This matter was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health
and Safety for investigation and report.

The application of the Southern Counties Gas Co. for permit to install new
service on Archer St. between Pismo and Pacific Streets was granted; work to be done under
the supervision of the City Engineering Department.
The application of Roy V. '.Darden for permit to move residence from part of
Lot A Block 30 to part of Lots 5,6, & 7, Block 45, Phillips Addn. was granted, and
application to remodel same at a cost of :2500 was granted providing the building is
brought up tp standard building-code, and the permit to be accompanied by letter, on
motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by F. L.Gist.
The application of Geo. A.Rhoades for permit to build Apartment and rooms
on Lot 6, Mission Vineyard Tract and Lot 1, M & C. Addn. Block 10lat a cost of $900 was
granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by F. L.Gist.
