Munoz ' at 960 Higuera St. was granted on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by G.W. Baker. The application of �. M. Castleberry for registration as Class "E" contractor, together with The Aetna Casualty and Surety Co. bond in the amount of $500 and registration fee of $15.00 received and on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by G. W. Baker, the surety was accepted, bond approved and license ordered issued. The application of C. F. Slaten for Class "F" contractor's license was held, pending the proper form of bond. Communication from W. E. McLennan, accepting position of Kssistant City Engineer, and inquiring as to starting date, the City Clerk was instructed to inform him and communication was ordered filed. The following matters were received and filed on motion of G. W. Baker, seconded by R. P. He: Financial Support " from City Library- Re: Repairs on City Library- the City Clerk was instructed to write them stating plans and specifications will be drawn. Permission was granted I.D.E.S. Assn. to hold a parade on June 9, 1946, at 10 A.M. on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by R. P.. Howell. Communication from I16 J. Munez requesting taxi zone at 960 Higuera St. was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G. W. Baker. O'Nan, seconded by G. W. Baker, the claim of James 'tlaldmeier in the amount of $35.00 to cover expenses to fire convention was allowed. This being the date fixed by the Council as per published Notice for receiving bids for furnishing to the City of San Luis Obispo automotive equipment, the following Bids were received and publicly opened and read: Bid of Kimball Motor Co. for 1 Dump Truck in the amount of $2959.98; together with certified check in the amount of $296.00 Bid of E. Petition of San Luis News Agency for Loading Zone and sign at 981 Chorro St. was denied on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by R. P. Howell. Communication from City Library submitting cost on repairs to building was ordered received and filed on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by F. L. Gist. The application of Ezra Sullivan for registration as Class "D" Contractor was denied and the City Clerk was instructed to return the registration fee of $25.00. Rouse for City Licenses for Cigars Sideline, Soft DrinF.s and Lunch Counter at 1737 Santa Rosa St. were granted on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by F. L. Gist. The bond of A. A. Cheda in the amount of 0500 written by the United'States Fidelity and Guaranty Co. was approved on motion of G. W. Baker, seconded by F. L. Gist. It was moved by R. P. Howell, seconded by G. W. Baker that Harry N. Jenks be appointed as Consulting Sanitary Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for additions to the San Luis Obispo Sewage Treatment Plant, in accordance with the re- quirements of the State Department of Finance and those of the California State Department of Public Health, including the preparation of engineering data on application forms furnished by the State for matching funds, and for the Board of Health permit; said work to be performed for six per cent ( 6%) of the construction costs, but not to exceed a total of eighteen hundred dollars ( ti ?1500.00); "450.00 payable one month from date, and balance payable upon completion of the work outlined herein and acceptance of same by the City Council. On motion of G. W. Baker, seconded by F. L. Gist the City Council sanctioned the immediate construction of horseshoe pits in the City Park , cost not to exceed $400; work to be done by the Public Works Department. By common consent of the Council, Commissioner Clyde T. O'Nan was granted permission to leave the State for a 30 day period. On motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy, Commissioner of Public Health and Safety requested permission to purchase six fire alarm boxes. Re- quest denied upon the following roll call vote: Ayes: Ralph C. Kennedy, Clyde T.
