O'Nan The minutes of June 3rd and Tune 10th, 1946 were read and approved as amended. On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G.W.Baker, the following building permits were granted: James Miller - Build porch; Lots'l & 21 Blk, 3, Caudill Tract Cost 250.00 Pat Gallagher - Res. and Garage; Lot 5, Blk 1, Anholm Addn. Baker; work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineering Department. A. E. Tomasini - 75 ft. of curb and gutter on the East side of Johnson Ave. between Upham and Spring Streets Harald N. Nielsen- 50 ft. of curbing on the west side of Lincoln St. between Mission and Venable Streets Harald B. Nielsen - 20 ft. of ramp for driveway on the north side of Mission St. between Lincoln and Chorro Streets Louisd Thurlow - 12 ft. of ramp on the north side of Church Sr. between Chorro and Morro Streets The application of the Southern Counties Gas Co. for permit to install gas service at 777 Lincoln St. and 322 Morro St. was granted on motion of R.P.Howell,*second -d by G. +.Baker; work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineering Department. 488 The petition filed by H. L. McLaughlin to cut down tree at 1130 Marsh St. for outfall sewer was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G.W.Baker. Permit to erect sign filed by Johnny Nelson at 1124 Nipomo St. was referred to Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, with power to act, on notion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G. 1% Baker. The following applications for ttansfer of City.Licenses were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, for investigation and report on motion of R.P. Howell, seconded by G. W.Bake r: Signal Oil Station - 751 Marsh St., from Victor Stone to D.J.Griffin & J. H. Stout San Luis Xarket, Marsh and Morro Streets from Witcosky Co. to Harley Gill Communication from James H. Murphy, Box 177, San Luis Obispo, Re: application for water and sewer service on Bishop )t. just off Johnson Ave. Matter discussed and held o The application of R. H. Winslow for Class "E" contractor ( General Painting) together with Maryland Casualty Co. Bond in amount of $500 and registration fee of $15.00 received and on motion of F. L. Gist, seconded by G.W.Baker, it was ordered that the surety be accepted, bond approved and registration granted. Report of the Building Inspector for the month of May 1946 was ordered received and filed on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G. W. Baker. Contract, plans and specifications for the construction of retaining wall on To Ave. as submitted by'Kenneth Beck were presented to the Council and were held over pendi estimate of the cost. This being the date fixed by the Council for receiving Bids as per published notice dated June 10, 1946, for furnishing to the City-of San Luis Obispo;;; a Motor Driven Street Sweeper, the following is a list of all bids submitted which were publicly opened and read Industrial Equipment Co. of Los Angeles - Bid in the amount of $ 5270.00 Plus sales tax 131.75 Total . . . . $ 5401.75 and on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by F.L.Gist, it was ordered that the Bid of Industrial Equipment Co. in the amount of $5401.75 be accepted. The renewal of city licenses for the July quarter, 1946 were approved and licenses ordered granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G. W. Baker. Communication from J. E. McClure, Secretary of the City Planning Commission Re: The Commission's findings onprotest petitions referred to them was ordered received and filed on motion of F. L. Gist, seconded by G.W.Baker. Dr. H. B. Kirtland, Chairman of the City Planning Commission appeared before the Council stating the creative phase of the Commission's job was completed after a year and one -half of work and study and was presenting the Master Plan and Proposdd Land -Use Plan proposed Ordinance at this time for the Council's consideration and action. The City Attorney was instructed to bring in Resolution for adoption of the Master Plan as submitted by the Planning Commission, on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by G. 71. Baker. The following matters were held over: Application of Mrs. Alice Benedict for Restaurant at 985 Pismo St. of J. K. McClure-for Lodging House at 1223 Chorro St. Comm. from Ila J. Munez Re: extending taxi zone Bids received on truck and autos from E.H. Thresh Inc. and Kimball Motors Transfer of Mission Taxi Co. Application of J.R. Harless for Water Service The application for sewer permit filed by the Witcosky Co. to cover three con- nections on State Highway #101, approximately one mile south of town, the connections to serve residence and plant were granted at a previous meeting but the approval for outfall 1 1 1 v
