HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/16/1946494 On motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by G.W.Baker, the Mayor was instructed to sue proclamation to declare, Monday July 15th as San Luis Obispo Baseball Day. The City �'Ierk was instructed to call for bids for a e Wheel cycle car for he Police Dept., said bids to be. submitted up to 7:30 P.M. on July 15th, 1946 at which ime they will be publicly opened and read. On motion of F. L. Gist, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan, the City Clerk was rutted to submit a bid to.the proper department offering a bid of $35,000 for the .S.O. Building to include building, ground and equipment located on Santa Rosa and ill Streets on a rental contract basis to cover a 10 year period. Resolution No. 768 (New series) - A. Resolution Adopting the Master lan ( as recommended by the Planning Commission) was passed and adopted on motion of . L. Gist, seconded by G. W. The following notifications received from the State Board of Equzliation were ordered received and filed: Transfer of "On Sale Beer" License from Rex E.Davis to Howard T. Bond in the amount of $500 and registration fee of $15.00 received and on motion of Ralph C.Kennedy and seconded by R.P.Howell it was ordered that the surety be accepted, bond approved and registration granted. The application of Pacific Pipeline Construction Co. for registration as Class "D" contractor together with Hartford Accident and Indemnity Co. bond in the amount of $1000 and registration fee of $25.00 received and on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan, it was ordered that the surety be accepted, bond approved and registration granted. Communication from D. E.Bassetti requesting a leave of absence from July 24th to Aug. 11, 1946 were referred to Commissioner Clyde T. O'Nan, with power to act, on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by.G.W.Baker. Communication received from the Chamber of Commerce requesting the City to use.the city owned lot at the corner of Palm and Osos Streets for emergency parking; same way referred to Commissioner R.P.Howell, with power to act, and communication was ordered received and filed. Communication from Dr. Geo. K. Dunklee Re: condition of the Street at the cornet of Ida and Marsh Streets; same was referred to Comm. R.P.Howell, with power to act, on motion of G. W. Baker, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan. Communication from Timothy O'Reilly submitting his resignation as Police Judge to clear the records, as outlined in his letter; same was ordered received and filed. Communication received from the American Legion, San Luis Obispo Post Ho. 66, protesting against the action of the Council in alloting the designated Veterans'. Memorial Hall prorerty at the corner of Mill and Grand Ave. for use as a partial location for 60 temporary housing units; thle matter was discussed at length and the City Clerk was instructed to notify all Veteran organizations and invite them to attend an adjourned meeting of the Council to be held on Friday, July 10th, 1946 at 7:30 for further dis- cussion on the matter.
