City Hall, Tuesday, September 3, 1946- 7:30 P.M.
The City Council met in regular session; Mayor Ralph g.Kennedy presiding.

The minutes of August 19th, 1946 were read and approved as read.

The following applications for contractor's licenses were received and on motion
of F.L.Gist, seconded by R.P.Howell, the bonds were approved, sureties accepted and
registration granted:

Co. - Registration fee of $25.00

The application of Cole Bros: Circus for show date on Sept. 22, 1946 location,
Exposition Park,- was referred to the Commissioner , G.d.Baker, for investigation and
report on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by F.L.Gist.
Application of George B. Henry for Lodging House License ( 4 rooms) at 954.Toro
St. was referred to Commissioner F.L.Gist, with power to act, on motion of R.P.Howell,
seconded by G.W.Baker.
Application of E.C.Wride for Taxicab License was referred to Commissioner F.L.Gist
for investigation and report on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by G.W.Baker.
Application of Jos. B. Soto for Mdse. Confectionery, Lunch, Soft Drinks License
at 1177 Marsh St. was granted on -motion of R.P.Rowell, seconded by F.L.Gist.
The Merchandising Bond of May G. Burrows in the amount of $200 with the Hartford
Accident and Indemnity Co. as surety, was received and on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded
by R.P.Howell, the surety was accepted, bond approved and license ordered issued.
The follo-v--jing transfer of city licenses were ordered granted on motion of R.P.
Howell, seconded by F. L.Gist:

Velma Handry for Grocery Store to Elizabeth C. Gilmet at 1638 Osos St.

Notification received from the State Board of Equalization for transfer of "On

ordered filed on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by G. Ii. Baker.

Resolution No. 772 (New Series) - A Resolution approving site in City of San Luis
Obispo to be used by Federal Public Housing Authority was passed and adopted on motion of
G.W.Baker, seconded by F.L.Gist upon the following roll call vote:

Resolution No. 773 (New Series) - A Resolution accepting a Deed from W.C.Wiokenden
was passed and adopted on.motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by G.W.Baker upon the following
roll call vote:

Claims against the City for the month of August 1946 were ordered paid, subject to
the approval of the heads of the respective departments and the Mavor.
Petition filed by John Wasson et al Re: proposed highway change was presented to
the Council; the Council instructed Commissioner F.L.Gist toarrange a joint meeting
bet;:een the County Board of Supervisors and the members of the highway commission, to-
gether with petitioners for discussion. Petition was ordered received and filed on motion
of F.L.Gist, seconded by R.P.Howell.
