The following applications for contractor's licenses were received and on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by R.P.Howell, the bonds were approved, sureties accepted and registration granted: Oliver A. F. Nilson - Class "D" Contractor - Bond for $1000 with U.S.Fidelityand Guaranty Co. - Registration fee of $25.00 Leslie Rios & Edward Lowe- Class "F" Contractor - Bond for $500 - U.S.Fidelity and Guarant, Co. - Registration itee of $ 10.00 1 The application of Cole Bros: Circus for show date on Sept. 22, 1946 location, Exposition Park,- was referred to the Commissioner , G.d.Baker, for investigation and report on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by F.L.Gist. Application of George B. Henry for Lodging House License ( 4 rooms) at 954.Toro St. was referred to Commissioner F.L.Gist, with power to act, on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by G.W.Baker. Application of E.C.Wride for Taxicab License was referred to Commissioner F.L.Gist for investigation and report on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by G.W.Baker. Application of Jos. B. Soto for Mdse. Confectionery, Lunch, Soft Drinks License at 1177 Marsh St. was granted on -motion of R.P.Rowell, seconded by F.L.Gist. The Merchandising Bond of May G. Burrows in the amount of $200 with the Hartford Accident and Indemnity Co. as surety, was received and on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by R.P.Howell, the surety was accepted, bond approved and license ordered issued. The follo-v--jing transfer of city licenses were ordered granted on motion of R.P. Howell, seconded by F. L.Gist: Transfer of service station from R.W.Madden to Teddie I. Bullock to Marion John Notification received from the State Board of Equalization for transfer of "On Sale Beer" license from Anna Baxter to Alvena Miller Nolting, 1020 Railroad Ave. was ordered filed on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by G. Ii. Baker. Petition filed by John Wasson et al Re: proposed highway change was presented to the Council; the Council instructed Commissioner F.L.Gist toarrange a joint meeting bet;:een the County Board of Supervisors and the members of the highway commission, to- gether with petitioners for discussion.
