Kennedy, Kline Williams Absent: F.L.Gist The Bid was received from the National Bureau of Casualty and Surety Under- writers for the Comprehensive Liability Policy for the City of San Luis Obispo for -1946 -1947 in amount $725.00 and on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by G. W.Baker the,bid was awarded the Evans Brokerage Co., policy to be written by the Fireman's Fund Indemnity Co. The application of Victoria Logan for 50 ft. of 5 ft. Sidewalk on the north side of Palm St. between Grove and Ida Streets was granted on motion of R.P.Holvell, seconded by G. 4Y. Baker; work to be done under the supervision of the engineering de- partment. The following applications for street excavations wete granted on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by G.W.Baker, with provision that work be done under the supervision of the engineering department: Permit No. 65 - Filed by So. Cos. Gas Co. - install service 1100 Block L'.onterey St. Permit No. 66 - " " " - to install curb meter on Islay St: Permit No. 67 - " " " " " " " service The applications for sign permits Nos. 41 and 42 filed by Clines Electric were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by G.J.Baker. The application of Arthur Salter for a Pawn Broker's license at 974 -A was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report. Notification from the State Board of Equalization for transfer of "On Sale Beer and wine" license from Dave J. Rouse & Louis S. Ventittelli to Louis S. Ventittelli at 678 Marsh St. was ordered received and filed. ^ransfer of Mom's & Pop's for Lodging House and Restaurant from Calvin Ivy to Henry Holbrook was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G. W. Baker' The transfer of the Associated Servic= Station at 1108 Monterey St. from Ray Vaudoit to Broerman & McComb was granted on motion of 0.. Vi. Baker, seconded by R.P.Howell. Communication from Dr. Philip A. Bearg requesting that the Council renew the Agreement for health services between the City of San Luis Obispo and the County Health Dept; on motion of R.P Howell, seconded by G.V. Baker, the City Attorney was instructed to bring a Resolution covering Agreement between the City of San Luis Obispo and the County of San Luis Obispo. Communication received from Kline Williams, Commissioner of Public Health and Safety was read to theCouncil and recommended that the City Council take such action as it deemed necessary to terminate the services of Capt. Carberry as of Oct. 14, 1946 for the good of the service and it was moved by Commissioner Williams and seconded by G. "I. Baker that Officer Carberry be discharged as of Oct. 14th, 1946 upon the following roll call vote: :ayes: G.'%i.Baker, Ralph C. Kennedy, Kline Williams Noes: R.P.Howell Absent: F.L.Gist The City Council authorized the Commissioner of Supplies to purchase the ?'.S.O. equipment now stored in the U.S.O. Building. The application for permit to build a Trailer Court on Palm Street filed by John Boriack was denied, without prejudice, on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by Kline williams, and it was further ordered that the filing fee be refunded to the petitioner. 1 1 1 1 Petition signed by property o-::ners and residents in the vicinity of Palm and Toro Streets was presented, protesting the establishment of a Trailer Court in Block 31 on Palm St. and read to the Council and on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by G. W. 1 _4 City Clerk 1 Baker, the same was ordered filed. The applications for licenses filed by C. P. Hunsaker for Mechanical Devices and Vending Machines placed in various locations in San Luis Obispo was granted on motion of F.'J.Gist, seconded by G. W. Baker. On motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by G.W.Baker, the City Engineer was instructed to make a complete survey of Hathway Ave. from Third St. to the City Limits., and the petition of property owners was ordered received and filed relative to the above survey in regard to curbs and gutters. Also, petition filed relative to hazards due to increased traffic on ='pathway Ave. and Toro Streets etc., was ordered received and filed on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by F.L. Gist. The Bid of the Hanson Equipment Co. was again presented for a Motor Grader; ' on motion of G. ',J. Baker, seconded by Kline rJilliams the bid of Hanson Equipment Co. was accepted in the amount of $8496.20 Communication and- map as presented by Maino and Madonna requesting the City to supply water to the complete subdivision of Tract 43 together with map was ordered received and filed on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by F.L.Gist. The transfer of license of the Mission Taxi was granted on motion of F. L. Gist, seconded by G.W. Baker. On motion of Kline Williams, seconded by R.P. Howell, the Fire Chief, James Waldmeier was authorized to attend the Fire Chiefts Convention at Long Beach from Oct. 27th to 31st incl* and to be reimbursed by the City for his expenses. On motion of G.W.Baker, seconded by R.P.Howell, the meeting adjourned. Approved this day of 1 _4 City Clerk 1
