Present: F.L.Gist, R.P.Howelli Ralph C; Kennedy, Kline Williams Absent: G.W. Baker On motion of F. L. Gist, seconded by Kline Vdilliams, the bonds written by the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Co. as surety, and 0. R. Ochs & Son as Principal, a contract bond in the amount of $18,990.00, and Labor and Laterial Bond in the amount of .18,990. were approved and surety accepted and the Mayor was authorized to execute the contract for and on behalf of the City of San Luis Obispo for the construction of the Lunicipal Sewage 1;iorks Additions, awarding same to C.R. Ochs & Son in the amount of $37,960. upon the following roll.call vote: Ayes: F. L. Gist, R.P. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, Kline Williams Noes: None Absent: G. VI. Baker Application for transfer of Restaurant License from Anna Baxter to Ethel U. Venn was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety on motion of Kline Vv'illiams, seconded by F. L. Gist. Notification from the State Board of Equalization for transfer of "Beer and Wine Importer's" and Beer and VY`ine Wholesaler's" from John J. Langdon dba Ranier Dis- tributing Co. to Henry.-ll. Wiedersheim & John J. Langdon, dba Vdiedersheim & Langdon at 304 Higuera St. was ordered received and filed. Communication from.Harry Neville Jenks, Re: Engineering Opinion on Damages Occasioned by Location of Freeway through Municipal Sewage Works Property was referred to the Council as a committee for study and cc- nsideration, on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by R. P. Howell, and the City Clerk was instructed to furnish a certified copy to the Health Officer, City Engineer, and the Highway Engineer, G. T. McCoy, and the communication was ordered filed for future reference. Communication from Harry Jenks Re: Engineering Opinicn on Treatment of Slaughterhouse Wastes; On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Kline Williams the matter was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works. The applications cf Fred Comer for License to operate Restaurant, and Cigars Sideline at 412 Hi €;uera St. was granted on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by R.P. Howe 11. Ordinance No. 277 (New Series) - An Ordinance amending sections 23, 40, 55, 592 67, 751 822 85, 933 993 109, 110 and 112 of Ordinance No, 76 (New SeriesQ entitled "An Ordinance Licensing and Regulating the Doing of certain acts and the carrying on of certain trades, etc. was finally passed on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by R. P. Howell upon the following roll call vote: Ayes: F.L.Gist, R.P.Howell, Ralph C. :ennedy, Kline Williams Noes: None Absent: G. W. Baker Ordinance No. 278 (New Series)_.:. An Ordinance Amending Section 1 of Ordinance No. 255 (IIew Series) entitled "An Ordinance Licensing and Regulating the business of conducting or operating card games or card tables and providing penalties for the violation thereof was finally passed on motion of R.P.Hovvell, seconded by Kline Williams upon the following roll call vote: Ayes: F.L.Gist, R.P.Howell, Ralph 0. Kennedy , Kline ';Iilliams Noes: None Absent; G. V.1. Baker Crdinance No. 279 (New Series) - An Ordinance Amending Sections 2,3, and 4 of Ordinance No. 222 (New Series) entitled. "An Crdinance Defining and :Regulating the Use of Mechanical Amusement Devices in the City of San Luis Obispo; Providing for the issuance of Licenses to the Operators and Owners of and Licenses for the Use, operation and Maintenance of, Lechanical Amusement Devices; etc. etc. %,,as finally passed on motion of R.
