Baker, F.L.Gist, R.P. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, Kline Williams Absent: None The application of Paul S. Dillon for-registration as Class "F" Contractor, together with U.S.Fidelity and Guaranty Co. bond in the amount of $500 and registration fee of $10.00 received.and on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by G. W. Baker, it was ordered that the surety be accepted, bond approved and registration granted. The treasurer's report for the month of January, 1947 was ordered filed. Mayor Kennedy submitted the following question for the city attorney's ruling: "Article XI, Sec. 10, City Charter states a Candidate may withdraw his name from nomination by filing with the City Clerk, in writing, such request, not later than 25 days before the day of election. Two can- didates for office had their withdrawal. requests reach the Clerk's office on March 13th - 25 days constitute 600 hours and that space of time prior to 12:01 A.M. April 7th,....would end at 12:01 A.M. March 12th. Are the withdrawals valid, or must the City Clerk have both names placed on the Ballot?" The City Attorney stated in his opinion, the withdrawals were and are valid. The following petitions for nomination of candidates for the respective offices to be voted on at the -General Municipal'.and..Consoliated Charter Amendment Election, to be.held in the City of.San Luis Obispo, on Monday, April 7tU, 1947, were presented to the Council and ordered placed on file at the previous meeting. Edward W.Rodriguez C,L.Smith The matter of the Election Proclamation for the General Municipal Election and Con- solidated Charter Amendment Election to be, held in.:the'�Gity.of San Luis.Obispo on Monday April 7, 1947 was now taken up; Election precinct polling places were officially desig- nated, election officers were appointed and it was moved by G.W.Baker, seconded by R:P.Howell, that the Election Proclamation be adopted, by the following,.vote: Ayes: G.W. Baker, F.L. Gist, R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, Kline Noes: None Absent: None The City Attorney was instructed to bring in a Resolution amending the contract between Douglas & Holdredge and the City of San Luis Obispo on construction of the City Hall upon the following roll call-vote: Ayes: G. W. Baker, F.L.Gist, R.P.Howell., Ralph C. Kennedy, Kline Williams Noes: None Absent: None On motion of G.W.Baker, seconded by R. P.
