Present: G.W.Baker,'F.L.Gist, R.P.Howe.11,.Ralph C..Xennedy, Kline Williams Absent: None The minutes of March 17th, 19th, 20th, 24th and 31st, 1947 were read and approved as read. The.application of Glynn A. Wyatt for parcel delivery service.at 1308 Monterey St.-was granted on motion of K1ine..Williams, seconded by R.P.Howell. The transfer.of license from.Nelson & O'Hagan to Nelson and Foller at 641 Higuera St. was granted on motion of Kline.Williams, seconded by R. P. Howell. Notification from the State Board of Equalization for "On Sale Beer" license to Gin Hing and Gow You Gin dba Me Hing Restautant at 815 Palm St. was ordered received and filed. The following reports were ordered received and filed on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by G.W. Baker: City Collector's Report for the month of March 1947 City Police Judge's " it Report of the City Police Dept. Bldg. Inspector " Claims against the City for the month of March were ordered paid subject to the approval of the heads of the respective department and the Mayor. Contract submitted by Joe Green Neon Products for maintenance of signs over Highway 101 was referred to the Building Inspector for investigation and report. Communication from Mission..Radio Co. Re: Public Address System set -up for Fiesta Week - permission was granted on motion of F.L:Gist; seconded by G. W. Baker. Communication from-0. H.,Barnes, City.Sanitary Inspector Re: condition of carnival grounds stating it is unacceptable to them,.was presented to the Council and the City Clerk was instructed to contact the Imperial Shows and advise them, Resolution -No. 803 (New Series)- A Resolution providing for the Execution of an Agreement between.the Ctty of San Luis Obispo and the State of California relating to the construction of-the State Highway upon certain.easements owned by the City was passed and adopted-on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by F.L.Gist upon the following vote: Ayes: G.W.Baker, F.L.Gist, R.P. Howell,.Ralph C. Kennedy, Kline Williams Noes: None Absent: None This being the date fixed by the Council, in accordance with published notice for receiving bids for furnishing steel pipe and.fittings to the City.of San Luis Obispo, the following is a list of all bids received which were publicly opened and read: Western'Pipe and Steel Co., Los Angeles Armco DrU-inage & Metal Products, Inc. On motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by G.W.Baker, it was.moved the bid of Western Pipe & Steel Co. be accepted, subject -to the approval.of the City Engineer;: Kenneth Beck. The application of Herbert Cohen for City license for card tables at 964.Monte St. dba Estrellita Club was granted on motion of Kline Williams, seconded-by F.L.Gist. The application of Orville T. Laurent for license for fireworks at tha Beechwo Auto Tel Service Station on # 101 Highway was.granted on motion of Kline Williams, seconde by G. ,W. Baker. The Merchandising bond of Arthur G. Bergman, dba Surge Dairy Service was re- ferred to the Building Inspector for report. Transfer of license from Chas. Sigsbee to Chas. Drew was held over. Z 111 Claim in the amount of.$41.75 filed.-by Ralph.Files on the Public Health and Safety Fund was allowed on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by F. L.Gist. The application of Lillian Ball.for Taxicab license was granted on motion of Kline Villiams, seconded by G. W. Baker.. The application of Clyde Beatty Circus was granted on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by F. L. Gist to be shown on May.7th or 8th, .1947 at Exposition Park. was granted Transfer of license from Guy Pyatt dba Pyatt's Grocery to H. Starbuck /on motion of Kline Williams, seconded R.P.Howell. Communication from A. Gamboni requesting a 20 ft. loading zone at 866 Palm St. was granted, and the police dept. to paint the zone, on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by R. P. Howell, Communication.from Kimball Motor Co. Re: request for refund of check in the amount of $296.00 which covered deposit on bid submitted in May 1946 for a dump truck, which has not been placed on production; on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by F.L.Gist, it was ordered the check be returned and bid withdrawn upon the following roll call vote: Ayes: G. W. Baker, F.L.Gist, R.P.Howell,Ralph C. Kennedy, Kline Williams Noes: None absent: None It was moved by R. P. Howell, seconded by F. L. Gist that Frank S. Barnhart be appointed Supt. of Recreation as of April 1, 1947 at a salary of $250.00 per month and a $25.00 per month car allowance, upon the following roll call vote: Ayes: G.W. Baker, F.L. Gist, R.P. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, Kline Williams Noes: None Absent: None On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by F. L.Gist, the meeting adjourned to Friday, April 119 1947 at 7:30 P.
