Kennedy, Kline Williams Absent: None The minutes of April 7th, 11th and 14th were read and approved as read. The application filed by rigs. Don McCullum for a Cafe license dba "Polly Cafe" at 412 Higuera St. was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and resort on motion of F. L. Gist, seconded by G. W. Baker. Certified check in the amount of $200 posted in lieu of a bond by Kenneth E. Haden for a Merchandising license, selling water softeners was received and on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by R. P. Howell, the surety was accepted, bond approved and license ordered issued. On motion of Kline Williams, seconded by F.L.Gist, the following applications for transfer of licenses were granted: Monterey Market from Hollis Brown to Edward Greenall at 1601 Monterey St. Berkemeyer Market, from Alice Witcosky to Warren G.Edwards at 1023 Chcrro St. The following notifications from the State Board of Equalization were ordered filed: "Off Sale Beer" and Wine" license transferred from Charles G. Sigsbee to Charles C. Drew at 104 Price St. "Off Sale General" license from A. A. Clara & F. G. Sauer to Ralph Libhart, Joe Navonne & Jean Roach, at 848 Monterey St. "Off Sale Beer & Wine" license from Arthur W.Daniels & Howard Moore to Arthur W.Daniels, at Morro and Marsh Streets. Communication received from the U. S. Army Recruiting Service requesting permission to use the City Streets for a sound truck for advertising the Poly Royal Show from April 28th to May 1st, 1947. Permission was granted on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by R. P. Howell. Communication from the San Luis Ice and Cold Storage Corp. asking permission to make a connection to the water main on Pismo Street running along their property for the purpose of connecting with their present overhead sprinkler system; this 1patter wasreferred to the Commissioner of Public Works, with power to act, on motion of F. L. Gist,seconded by Kline Williams. The report of the City Clerk for the month of March, 1947 was ordered filed. Claims filed by G. 0. Keffer at 1063 Ella St. for repairs to sewer in the amount of $22.13, and claim filed by Mrs. J. P. Wentworth in the amount of $6.75 for repairs to sewer at 1719 Broad St. were referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for investigation and report, on motion of G. W. Baker, seconded by Kline Williams. Claim filed by Mr. Tarwater at 1119 Osos St. for refund for patching sewer and waste line and opening sewer line in the amount of $20.88 was denied on motion of R. P. Howell,seconded by G. W. Baker. This being the date fixed by the Council, and in accordance with published notice for receiving bids for furnishing to the City of San Luis Obispo, for the re- location of a 12" diameter water main across the San Luis Obispo Creek,- the following is a list of all bids submitted which were publicly opened and read; 1 - W. Howell, and the City Engineer for investigation and port. The application of transfer of license.of.- Deluxe Taxi from Lester Stuart Reba I. Smith at 1029 Morro St. was granted on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by . W. Baker. The kerchandising bond of Arthur G. Bergman dba Surge Dairy Service was in held over awaiting report from the Building Inspector, Resolution No. 806 (New Series) - . A Resolution granting a 15% increase n wages and salaries paid to City Officials and employees was passed and adopted on motion G. W. P.Howell not voting On motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by R.P. Howell, the City Attorney was instructed to draw up a contract sales agreement between the City of San Luis Obispo and J. K. Dunne covering the purchase of a 2 -ton Chevrolet truck and also an Agreement between the City of San Luis Obispo and Wallace & Tiernan for a chlorinator for the Disposal Plant. Commissioner R.P.Howell announced that the City of San Luis Obispo will ve a clean -up week in San Luis Obispo from May 5th to MaylOth inclusive. Communication from H. J. Dubin requesting that the city establish a grade front of his property on Hathway Ave; this matter was referred to the Commissioner of blic Works, with power to act, on motion of Kline.iiilliams, seconded-by F.
