City Hall , Monday August 4, 1947 - 7:30 -P. M.
The -City Council met in regular session; Mayor Timothy I. O'Reilly presiding.

The above resignations were accepted with regret, and the City Clerk was instructed to
write-letters of appreciation and thanks.
The request of Hazel Blanks to use -the city property, Lot 4, Breck Tract was
granted-by-the Council: _ .
The Report of the Library Trustees submitting -budget-for the fiscal year 1947 -19
was-referred-to the Commissioner of Finance for study and report ;n motion of G.W.Baker,
seconded •thy Zline-Williams.
Claims against-the City for the-month-of July, -1947 were ordered paid, subject
to the approval of the heads of-the respective departments and the-Mayor.
' Memorandum of Agreement for Expenditure `of 1/4 cent gas tax for Streets of Majo
Importance was presented, and the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized to sign same on
motion---of G.W;Baker, --seconded -by Wm. 0. Hall.
Resolution No. 818 (New Series)-,.-- A Resolution of the City Council of the City'
of San Luis Obispo adopting a Budget and Approving Memorandum of Agreement for Expenditure
of 1/4 cent gas tax allocated for streets of Major Importance was passed and)adopted
The minutes of the previous meetings were approved.
This being the time set forbids as per advertised notice as per minute order
of the-Council-dated June 30; 1947 for Public Auction--of the City-Hall'and site;. No
written bids were, received; the property was'-put---up-for Public Auction: John- L:-:Hoerntlein
submitted the highest bid in the-amount-of $37,000; It-was-moved by Wm. O. Hall, seconded

by G. W.Baker that the bid of $37,000 by John L. Hoerntlein be accepted and-the-City Attorn
be instructed - -to "prepare an Ordinance authorizing-the sale of the property: -Motion carried
Terms-of the sale being 25% of the total purchase price down and balance of '75% due upon
-transfer--of-the Deed:

A certified check in the amount-of $200 posted by Thomas H 3taniere, in lieu
of a Merchandise bond-was received and on motion of 'dim. 0. Hall, seconded by G.W.Baker, the
surety--was accepted -and-license ordered issued:

The discussion on the Annual payment for Water privileges was referred to the
City 'Attorney for a' ruling.
The Goldtree Water-Agreement-was referred to Commissioner R.P:Howe 11.
The petition filed by Frank J. Cheda et a1 Re: zoning of the Brizzolari Tract
requesting multiple -dweilings',-for'-the district was referred to the Planning Commission
on motion-of Wm: O. Hall-i seconded-•by -R.P.Howell.
The request of George Kilburn Re: painting of white -strip on Broad St. was
referred to Commissioner Howell, with-power to act; on motion of G.W.Baker, seconded
by Wm. 0. Hall.
The following applications were referred to Commissioner of Public Health
and Safety for investigation and report;
