Hall, R.P.Howell, Timothy I. O'Reilly,Kline Williams Absent: None The Minutes of the previous-meetings were approved: This being-the time set for the sale of l only Gallicn Master Motor Grader at Public Auction as per advertised notice - no written or verbal bids were received, and by common-consent of the Council, the sale is still open subject to bidders and the City Clerk was instructed to send out notices to adjacent communities notifying them of the equipment for sale. The application-for transfer of license-of-the Associated Service-Station at Marsh -and•Higuera Streets from E.A. Barbar to Arthur.Leister on motion of Kline :;illiams, seconded by G. W. Baker. The application of James S.Ramos for registration as Class "D" contractor together with Great Indemnity-Co. Bond in the amount of $1000 and registration fee of $25.00 received and-on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, sec.pnded-by G.W.Baker, it was ordered that the surety be accepted, bond approved and registration granted. The Merchandising Bond'of Dee W. Boodry - and Tessie E.Boodry, dba "Boodry's Ice Cream" in-the-'amount--of $200-with the United- States Fidelity-and Guaranty--Co. as surety, was received and'on motion of Wm. O: Hall, seconded by G.W.Baker, the surety was accepted,, bond - approved and - -License, ordered issued: 91 The request of Margaret W.3cott, Secy. of Morro Bay Jubilee Assn.for permission to park a truck, bearing a Ford Deluxe Sedan on the streets of San Luis Obispo, for the purpose of selling chances, on the car, was. granted with the provision that the locations be designated by the-Police --- Department- dates designated Aug:-l9th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd. The request of 0. R. Ochs & Son for 90 working days extension on the con- structi'on of the Addition to the Sewer Disposal Plant was granted on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by Wm. 0: Hall: Communication from- the-Merchants- Division-, Chamber of Commerce asking for a donation of $5.00 from the City-of-San Luis Obisgb- for ,Christmas tree decorations,- and on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded -by R:P:Howe11, the City Clerk-was authorized to draw a warrant in the amount-of $5`:00, being the City's share in this program:, Communication from the San Luis Obispo City Schools, asking the-City to paint and mark out the parking spaces for them at the-Senior-High School, -and also to have the tennis-,court-lines at the Jr. High-School repainted, and on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by R. P. Howell-, the- request was granted: The following communications were-ordered-received and filed: Communication-from`Kenneth Beck, City Engineer; approving the Plans and Specifications for the proposed City Hall Building was ordered received and filed. R: Preuss - appeared before the Council to discuss the Library Budget for the year-1947-1948 requesting budget of $25,300;00 for the year - on motion of VJm. 0. Hall, seconded by R. P. Howell it was agreed that the budget be allowed in the amount of $22,500. Motion carried. 9` Dr. Loveall-acting as spokesman for the Park, Playground and Recreation Commissi% appeared before the Council requesting a revised budget for the year 1947 -48; it was moved'byKlihe Williams, seconded by G.W. Baker, that a tax rate of 15¢ be allowed for the Park, Playground and Recreation Commission for the-fiscal year. Communication from Pacific Tel. and Tel. Co, regarding the tract of land in Block 19 adjoining the city•property. This matter was referred back to the City Engineer, Kenneth Beck; with instructions to negotiate with the Company regarding the strip o f land adjoining-the city-property, Mayor L'Reilly appointed Paul Jackson as Police Judge pro -tem. a t a salary of $150.00 per month-as ofAugust 15, 1947; on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by G.W. Baker; the appointment was approved by the`Council. It was moved by Kline Williams, that Vim. Payton be appointed as General Mainte- nance man-at a regular salary of $300. per month as of August 15, 1947 out of the Fire Dept: Fund. Notion'carried, Ordinance No. 287 (New Series) - An..Ordinance -levying a, tax for the current fiscal year 1947 -1948 upon-all taxable property.within the City of 'San Luis Obispo, and fixing the- rate,of such tax 'sas-introduced and passed to print on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded"by G.W:Baker upon the-following-'roll call vote: - Ayes: G.W.Baker, Wm. 0.
