Hall, seconded by G.W.Baker, the above-appointments were approved. Petition -filed -by Chas. L. Maier et a1, protesting the construction of a build- ing at the corner of-Pismo and Broad Streets was ordered received and filed. On- motion of Wme 0. The - Merchandising Bond-of-Gregg Soto and Robert F.Batty was presented to the Council and on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by G:W.Baker, the surety was accepted, bond approved and license-ordered-issued. The application of sparks Circus for license for circus to be held at Exposition Park on Sept. 26th or 27th; 1947 ( tentative dates) was granted on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by G.W.Baker. The following transfer or city licanses were granted on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by G. W.Baker: Transfer of S tandard Motor Service at 990 Higuera St. from"Howard J. Levey to Joseph R. Parker Transfer of Golden West Cafe from Joaquin M. Craveiro to Joe Murray dba Golden West Cafe Communication from the Housing Authority Re: Authority and responsibility with respect to tenants at Santa Rosa Park Unit was referred to the City Attorney with power to act, on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by-Kline Williams. Communication from Dept. of Public Works, State of California Re: Streets of Major Importance designated by the City under the provisions of Section 195 of the Streets and Highway Code was referred to the Planning Commission for study and report on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by--Vim. 0. Hall: Communication from Asst. City Engineer, W. E. McLennan, tendering his resig- nation as of Oct. 15th, 1947, and on motion of R.P. Howell, seconded by Kline Williams, the resignation was accepted. Claims against the City for the month of August were ord:red paid subject; to the approval of the heads of the respective departments and the Mayor. Communication from the Division of Highways, together wtth'Agreement for acquiring 0.81 acres from tract of land owned by the City, and on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by G.X.Baker, the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized -to'sign.the- Agreement. On motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by Kline Williams', "the City -Clerk was instructed to write the Division of Highways requesting a traffic count on Marsh Street at -the following intersections: Santa Rosa Street Osos Street Morro Street Chorro Street to determine the heed-'if synchronized signals at the above intersections. On motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by G. W.Baker, the Commissioner of Public Works was authorized to negotiate for the purchase of the Nagano - property adjoining the Sewer- Plant. Commissioner R.P.Howell was instructed to write the Southern Pacific Co. regarding furnishing the Southern Pacif ic,Co. Salinas--water: On motion-of R.P:Howell, seconded by Wm.- O. Hall:,,the City-Attorney was in- I strutted to prepare Resolution concerning bonding the City of San Luis Obispo for certain Municipal Imp=ements in connection with its water system and Sewage Plant. On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G. W. Baker, Commissioner Wm. 0. Hall was instructed to contact Mary Hathway Re: the opening of Lincoln Street adjoining her property. Resolution from-San Luis Obispo Planning Commission together with map rep- resenting overall picture or Master Plan Map and a draft of a proposed Zoning Ordinance for regulation of future buildings within the City were presented to the Council, re- commending theIr,adopti,on and-were °ordered received and-filed. Resolution No. 822 (New aeries)--, A Resolution Authorizing the City Clerk to publish Notice of-a. Public Hearing to be held by the, City Council upon-the proposed "Land -Use Plan" Ordinance was passed and adopted on motion of R.P.
