Howell, seconded by Kline Williams: Richfield Service Station - 316 Higuera St. from K. H. Coleman to John 0. Dunn Texaco Service Station - 1185 Monterey St. from Al Tiemann to Chester Green & John Bottini Sister's Inn, 208 Higuera St. from Annabelle.Warren to Alice E. Harris On motion of R. P.. Communication from the War Assets Administration advising the City of the transfer of Government owned facilities ( pipe line and dam ) to the San Luis Obispo Flood Control and Water Conservation District was referred to the City Attorney. Communication from California Mission Trails Association asking financial support from the City was ordered received and filed on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by G.hl. Baker. Communication from Ray C. Williamson submitting report on findings of City Departments for Public Accountant and Audit and recommendations was referred to the Com- missioner of Finance, as was also the communication from Hamma and Nelson.submitting suggested changes, on motion of R.P.Howell., seconded by G.W.Baker. Communication from J. Earle Boyce asking permission to leave the State for a vacation during the month of August, 1948 was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Wm. 0. Hall. Certified copy of Resolution. of Intention to increase rates on water furni the City as passed by the Board of Supervisors was referred to the City Attorney with in- structions to file formal protest and consider withdrawal of the Board Order and mail copy of the letter to the President of the Board. Communication from the Chamber of Commerce outlining recommendations to be presented to Governor Warren, relative to the expanded use of Camp SanlLuis Db spo for United States Regular Army for training operations was referred to the Mayor for endorse- ment and reply. Howell, seconded by G. W. Baker. Claims against the City for the month of July, 19+8 were ordered paid subject Ito the approval of the heads of the respective departments and the Mayor. The following matters were held over: (Application for transfer of City License of, 11 - Warden's Cafe 1136 Carmel St., transferred to Xana M. Bosio I2 - Hyde's Service Station, 641 Higuera St. 11 to C.C. Bozley ( awaiting approval of City Engineer and Building Inspector ) (Transfer of location of business of Joe's Second Hand Store from 673 Palm Street to 884 No. Broad St. ( referred to City Engineer, City Attorney and Building Inspector ) The application of Joseph H. Rayman for Taxicab License at 1039 Monterey St. was withdrawn by applicant. The following Merchandising Bonds were approved, surety accepted and license lordered issued on motion of 14m. 0. Hall, seconded by R. P. Howell: Troy Mfg. Co. ( Mfg. and Wholesale ties)- Great American Indemnity Co. Bond Donald Good - ( Mdse. Plumb. Supplies 1032 Nipomo St; Petition filed by David P. Meeker et al requesting adequate water mains in the Phillips Addition was received and filed. Ordinance No. 164 (New Series) - An Ordinance approving the Annexation of the Monterey Heights Subdivision, Phillips Addition, Taylor Tract, Arlington Addition, etc. etc. was finally passed on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by G. W. Baker upon the following roll call vote: Ayes: G.W.Baker, Wm. 0. Hall R. P. Howell, Timothy I. O'Reilly, Kline Williams Noes: None Absent: None Communication from Steve Zegar Re: Taxi Zone Stand in conjunction with office in outer lobby, Anderson Hotel, on Monterey Street side awaiting report from Commissioner of Public Health and Safety. On motion of Kline Williams, seconded by Wm. 0. Wholesale ) Commissioner of Public Works, R. P. Howell,' was authorized to proceed with extension of water mains 8" - 6" , as shown on map, to connec.t with Monterey Heights, on motion of G.W. Baker4 seconded by Wm. 0. Hall. On motion of Kline Williams, seconded by Wm. 0. Hall, it was ordered that all maintenance of signs, traffic control, street, cross -walks and curb painting be trans- ferred to the Street Department under the supervision of the City Engineer.
