The Council met in regular session; Mayor Timothy I.0'Reilly presiding.
Present: G.W.Baker, R.P.Howell, Timothy I. O'Reilly, Kline Williams
Absent: Wm. 0. Hall
The minutes of December 20, 1948 were approved.
This being the time and place fixed by the Council for Hearing for all persons
interested in or objecting to the Proposed Vacation of said portion of Wall Street and a
portion of'Park Ave., the matter was now taken up. There were no vritten or verbal protests
made against this action.
Resolution No. 867 (New Series) - A Resolution of the City of San Luis Obispo
ordering the Vacation of a Portion of Wall Street and a portion of Park Avenue was passed
and adopted on motion of G.W. Baker, seconded by R. P. Howell upon the following roll call
' vote:
Ayes: G.W. Baker, R. P. Howell, Timothy I. O'Reilly, Kline Williams
Noes: None
Absent: Wm. 0. Hall
The following matters were ordered received and filedt
1 - A. M. Donaher Re: confirmation of price submitted on Sweeper Bid ( Elgin Sweeper )
2 - Communication from Telegram- Tribune Re: increase of advertising rates on legal
advertising.

Communication from Ben Royce Re: Fire Hazard, was referred to the Commissioner of Public
Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion of G. W. Bakery seconded by
R. P. Howell.
' Communication from the State Controller requesting Resolution authorizing and designating
Officials to file reports as required by the Collier -Burns Highway Act of 1947, the City
Attorney was instructed to prepare Resolution naming Commissioner of Public Works, as
Official to sign.
Communication from Charter Committee together with written copies
of proposed charter
was referred to the Council as a whole for study.
Ordinance No. 107 (New Series)_- An Ordinance amending
Sections 6, 7 and 8,
and repealing Sections 9,109 11 and 13, of Ordinance No. 241 (New
Series) entitled:
" "An Ordinance providing for the Control of food and drink establishments
in the City of
San Luis Obispo and providing penalties for the violation of such
ordinance was finally
passed on motion of G.W. Baker, seconded by R. P. Howell upon the
following roll call vote:
Ayes: G.W. Baker, R.P.Howell, Timothy I. O'Reilly, Kline-Williams
Noes: None
Absent: Wm. 0. Hall
The following applications of transfer of city licenses
were granted on motion
of R. P. Howell, seconded by Kline Williams:
1 - Transfer or Corky's & Danny's to Udo and Margaret Jante
1
2 - Transfer of Baker and Roberts Store No. 3 to Leslie Ellsworth
Application of Chas. A Webe for Launderette at Hathway Ave. and California Blvd, was held
over pending ruling of the City Attorney on Zoning.
Claims against the City for the month of December, 1948
were ordered paid subject
to the heads of the respective departments and the Mayor.
