O'Reilly The minutes of February 21st were approved. The following reports were ordered received and filed on motion of G.W. It It It If If It 5 - City Building Inspector's report " January and Feb. 1949 Ulaims against the City for the month of February were ordered paid subject to the approval of the heads of the respective departments and the Mayor. Communication from Julian A. McPhee Re: Signs on No. 101 Highway was granted oh motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by G.W. Baker. Communicationfrom S.L.O. City Schools Re: cancellation of school taxes was referred to the City Attorney with instructions to prepare Resolution. Communication from California Mission Trails urging support on Senate Bill No.1123 was referred to the City Attorney with instructions to prepare Resolution. City Attorney, Communicationfrom Mrs. Taft Re: sidewalk condition was referred to the Communication from American Legion Post No. 66 Re: license for carnival was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion of G.W.Baker, seconded by Wm. 0. Hall. Communication from Clyde Beatty Circus to hold a circus in San Luis Obispo on May 7th, 1949 was referred to Commissioner of Public Health and Safety. Communication from Ernest Dalidio requesting materials to repair fence on the Laguna property was granted on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by G.W.Baker. Petition filed by L. B. Graff et al Re: extending road off Foothill Blvd. was referred to Commissioner of Public Works for study and report. 1° i 4 Resolution No. 877 (New Series) - A Resolution of the City of San Luis Obispo ordering the Vacation of Redondo Place was passed and adopted on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by G.W. Baker upon the following vote: Ayes: G.W.Baker, 141. 0. Hall, R.P.Ho,:!ell, Kline Williams Noes: None Absent: Timothy I. O'Reilly Application of Casa Monterey at 1347 Monterey St. for City License for Mdse. ( Cooked Food Spanish) was referred to Commissioner of Public Health and Safety on motion of G.W.Baker, seconded by Wm. 0. Hall. Application of M. R.Righetti dba "R & R Pickled Mussels Co." at 940 Santa Rosa St. for City License for the manufacture of Pickled Mussels ( Wholesale) was re- ferred to the Building Inspector. Communication from the Rotary Club Re: Rotary Club Signs to be placed at the north end and south end of town; by common consent of the Council permission was granted with the provision, of the State Division of Highway's approval, which is required if on State Highways within the city. It was moved by G.W. Baker, seconded by Wm. 0. Hall that the Building Inspe lenforce the State Law whereby Contractors must show evidence of Workman's compensation. Application for transfer of Veterans Gray Cab Co. and Deluxe Cab from jJesse A. Munoz at 960 Higuera St. to Harry and Peter Gillis dba "Owl Taxi Co" was granted, but the stand at 960 Higuera St. to be discontinued. Communication from the City Clerk certifying 744 Initiative Petitions Re: State Employees' Retirement System was again presented to the Council and on motion of 11dr. 0. Hall, seconded by Kline Williams it was ordered the measure be placed. on the ballot April 4, 1949. At this time a Hearing was held Re: Proposed amendment to the Land Use Plan ( Zoning Ordinance) to change from R -2 to C -1 District, and the following Ordinance was (passed: Ordinance No. 310 (New Series) - An Ordinance realassifying as C -1 Commercial ( local) District portions of Block 2 and Block 11 of Weills Addition to the City of San Luis Obispo was introduced and passed to print on motion of G.W.Baker, seconded by Kline Williams upon the following roll call vote: Ayes: G.W. Baker, Wm. 0. Hall, R.P. Howell, Kline Williams Noes: None Absent: Timothy I. O'Reilly Re: Notice of Hearing on Including New Annexed Territory in Land Use Plan- JA number of property owners were present and opposed the Zoning as presented; after dis- icussion it was moved by Wm. 0. Hall and seconded by Kline Williams, that the Council meet 1with the Planning Commission on march 21st and discuss the proposed zoning.
