On motion of Vim. 0. Hall, seconded by Kline- 1illiams, the meeting adjourned to
Monday, May 23, 1949 at 7:30 P.M. upon the following roll call vote:

City Hall, Recreation Center, Monday, May 23, 1949 - 7:30 P.M.
The City Council met in jcint session with the sub - committee of the Charter
Committee for discussion on the Proposed Charter.
Present: Douglas M. Carpenter, Wm. 0. Hall, Timothy I. O'Reilly,Kline Williams,
Frank V. Woods
Absent: None
The dsdussion covering Article X, Boards and Commission, starting irith` Section
1000 thru Sections 1005 and subsections 1,2,3,4 & 6 was referred back to the Committee
for meeting with the School Board.
Continuina, the Joint Committee reviewed Sec. 1006 to 1108 inc. Thoughful considera-
tion of the wording used in several of the above sections were discussed and the Secretary
instructed to make the necessary changes, to be presented at the next meeting.
On motion of 111m. 0. Hall, seconded by Kline Williams and by common consent of the
Council, it was ordered that the "Offer to Lease" submitted to the Veterans Administration
be extended orie year to June 30, 1951
Communication from Dr. Loveall, Chairman of the Park, Playground and Recreation Com-
mission, requesting approval of expenditure for lighting the Soft Ball Diamond Tract #34
was approved by the Council, and on motion of Wm. 01 Hall, seconded by Frank V. Woods,
the City Clerk was instructed to call for bids-'bids to be opened on June 6th, 1949.
On motion of Frank V.Woo seconded by Kline Williams, the meeting adjourned.
