City Hall., Recreation Center, Monday August 15, 1949 - 7:30 P. M.
The City Council met in regular session; Mayor Timothy I. O'Reilly presiding.
Present: D. M. Carpenter, Wm. 0. Hall, Timothy I. O'Reilly, Kline Williams, Frank V.
Woods.
Absent; None
The Minutes of .August 1st and August 8th and August 11, were approved.
Communication from C. A. Maino Re: posting of signs on private property was referred to
the Citv Attorney for study and report on motion of D. M. Carpenter, seconded by Frank
V. TAloods. '
Communication from Utilities Service Co. Rei solving municipal water problems was referre
to the Commissioner of Public Works for study and report on motion of Kline Williams,
seconded by D. M. Carpenter.
Communication from the Park, Playground and Recreation Commisiion, recommending purchase
of parcel of land from the Division of Highways was referred to the City Clerk with in-
structions to write the Division of Highways requesting proposed deed and stipulations
concerning property, on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by D. M. Carpenter.
Proposal from the Mission Radio Co. for Radio maintenance was referred to the City
Attorney, with instructions to prepare Resolution.
Communication from Richard Harris, covering tax matters on Wm. 0. Hall property was re-
ferred to the City Attorney, on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by Frank V. Woods.
Communication from D. A. V. requesting permission to hold "Forget me not" sale on-streets
of S.L.O. on August 19th and 20th was granted on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by Kline
Williams.
The following matters were ordered received and filed:

The folloininp applications for contractor's licenses were received and on motion of Kline
Williams, seconded by Frank V. Moods, the bonds were approved, sureties accepted and
registration granted:

The'folloiring applications for city licenses were referred to the Commissioner of Public
Health and Safety for investigation and report:

Applications for transfer of city licenses:

Resolution Pao. 906 (New Series) - A Resolution authorizing the City Council to 1
enter into a contract with the Board of Administration of the California State Employees
Retirement System was introduced and adopted on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by D. M.
Carpenter upon the following roll call vote:

Resolution No. 907.(New Series) - A Resolution directing the City Engineer to
furnish plans and specifications, together with a careful estimate of the costs and ex-
penses of the work in connection therewith, for the construction of sewers in certain
portions of the Phillips Addition, Taylor Tract and Slack Tract in the City of San Luis
Obispo was passed and adopted on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by Frank V. Woods upon
the following roll call vote:
