Carpenter, Timothy I. O'Reilly, Kline Williams Absent: Wm. 0. Hall, Frank V. Woods The minutes of Jan. 3, 1950 were approved. Communications: The following matters were ordered received and filed on motion of D.111. Carpenter, seconded by Kline Williams: 1 - Letter of thanks from Library Board for 10 minute parking zone 2 - Communication from Community Relations Couhcil Re: Special Election cost on Housing Initiative Petition. 3 - Communication fom A. A. of U. W. Re: Art show, Feb. 22nd to 26th. 4 - " from Housing Authority concerning Low Rent Public Housing. Reports: Citv Collector's report for the month of December, 1949 City Clerk's n n tf n rr rr Building Inspector's report for Oct., Nov. and Dec. ( quarterly report ) Communication from the S.L.O. Real Estate Board requesting the City Council to take the necessary steps for decontrol of rent was referred to the Council as a whole for study and report on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by,D. M. Carpenter. Petition filed by Robert E. Kennedy et al., petitioning the Council to enforce Ordinance No. 237 (New Series) was referred to Com -nissioner of Public Health and Safety for study and report on motion of D.M.Carpenter, seconded b.r Kline Williams. On motion of Kline Williams, seconded by D. M. Carpenter, the following applications for transfer of city licenses were granted: 1 - Colonial Hotel, 103 Sta. Barbara Ave. from Alice Hubicz to F. G. Anderson 2 - Meyer and Willett, 1005 Monterey St. to Ben Hughes et al 3 - J. E. Hamilton ( mdse. yarns) 718 Higuera St. to Merle M. Hawkins The applications of F. W. McGuire for Filling Station Class "B" at 3.16 Higuera Street. and from Floird Stephens for Lodging House License at 1107 Foothill Blvd., were referred to Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report oh motion of Kline William, seconded bir D. M. Carpenter. The anrlicati.on of California Home Construction Inc. for registration. as Class "E" Contractor together v,rith U.S.Fidelity and Guaranty Co. bond in the amount of $500, and registration rep of $15.00 received and on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by D.M. Carpenter it was ordered that the surety be accepted, bond approved and registration granted. The renewal of Insurance Policies onPolice Cars and Fire.Trucks were referred to the Commissioner of Finance, with p6wer to act, on motion of D.N,.Carpenter, seconded by Kline Williams. By common consent of the Council the folloirring Bids were officially awarded: 1 - 3/4 Ton Pickup Truck to Arland Chevrolet Co. for Chevrolet Pickup Truck in the amount of t 1407.98, plus 34 State Sales Tax. 1 - Ton Panel Truck to Kimball Motors for G. M. C. Panel Truck in the amount of $1914.23, State Sales Tax included. On motion of D. M. Carpenter, seconded by Kline Williams, the Commissioner of Finance was authorized to increase P. L.and P. D. Limits on Fleet Policy from 25/50/5 now carried to 100/300/25. Petition filed by James H. Murphy et al petitioning the City to accept Deed for Street known as Sierra Way was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for study and report o motion of D.M.Carpenter, seconded by Kline Williams.
