'"The noise is terrific out there at night," Woods agreed. "I think the people have a right to com- plain. The police have frequently warned the offenders, but it does no good." McGuire for Filling Station at 316 Higuera St. was granted on motion of Frank V.Woods, seconded by Kline Williams. Application of Floyd Stephens for Lodging House License at 1107 Foothill Blvd. was held over awaiting report from Commissioner of Public Health and Safety. It. was mnved by Frank V.Woods that a 15 minute parking zone be established in front of the Boy Scout Office, 700 Block Monterey Street. Motion lost for want of a second, The City Clerk was instructed to call for Sealed Bids onapproximately 4300 feet of 6 inch cast iron water pipe, also authorized to call for Sealed Bids for the sale of buildings located on city property located at the Southeast corner of Santa Rosa and Murray Ave. On motion of D.M.Carpenter, seconded by Kline Williams and by common consent of the Conncil, the Department of Public Works was authorized expenditure not to expeed $1570.27 for street construction and surfacing of 792 feet on Augusta Street - work to be done by private contractor. Commissioner Woods was excused from the meeting by Mayor O'Reilly at this time. It was moved by D.M.Carpenter, seconded by Kline Williams that .Jean Boroski he appointed Steno -Clerk and Matron in': -the Police Dept. on a six month's probationgry period as of'January 16, 1950. Resolution No. 941 (New Series) - A Resolution providing for the Execution of an Architect's Agreement between the City of San Luis Obispo and William Decker Holdredge, Architect was passed and .adopted on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by D.M.Carpenter upon the following vote: Ayes: D.M.Carpenter, Timothy I.
