The City Attornev was instructed to draft Proposed Animal Ordinance on motion
of Frank V.Woods, seconded by Timothy I.. O'Reilly,
Claim filed by John Pedroni, 1886 Loomis St. in the a*�ount of $2.75 was ordered
paid on motion of Wm. 0 Hall, seconded by Frank V.Woods.
The City Clerk was instructed to call for Bids for lease of the Laguna property-
bids to be opened November 6, 1950 at 7:30 P.M.
Ordinance No. 334 (New Series) - An Ordinance amending Sections 24.1 of
Ordinance No. 122 (New Series) enttitled:" An Ordinance regulating traffic upon and the
parking of vehicles on the Public Streets of the City of San Luis Obispo" was passed to
print on motionof Frank V.Woods, seconded by Timothy I. O'Reilly upon the following roll
call v ote :

Communications:
From Douglas Brookman, Attorney for Pacific Greyhound Lines, together with application
of the Pacific Greyhound Lines for authority to abandon service between Carmel and San
Luis Obispo over Califorria Highway No. 1 was ordered received and filed on motion of
Kline Williams, seconded by D.M.Carpenter.
Petition from Hawthorne P.T.A requesting crossing guard at Sandercock, Broad and
Chorro Street intersection was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety
for study and report on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by D.M.Carpenter.
Cony of Planning Commission Minutes of the meeting of Sept. 21st, 1950 were ordered
received and filed on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by D.M. Carpenter.
Communication from Doris M. Garcelon, Secy. of Library Board, together with letter from
Catherine Childs submitting resignation as member of the Library Board was presented to
the Council and on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by D.M.Carpenter, it was ordered
the resignation be accepted and communication received and filed.
Communication from Monday Club calling the Council's attention to the hazardous con-
dition existing along the southerly side of Andrews Street was referred to the aommissione
of Public Works on motion of Frank V.Woods, seconded by D.M.Carpenter.
Communication from the Chamber of Commerce asking for aid imfinancing of an advertising
campaign was referred to the City Attorney for study and report on motion of (fm. 0. Hall,
seconded by Kline Williams.

Proposed Agreement presented by Southern Pacific Co. covering connecting 6 inch
sewer line on Railroad property near Bushnell St. was referred to the City Attorney on
motion of Kline Williams, seconded by D.M.Carnenter.
The following Merchandising-Bonds were approved, sureties accepted and licenses

The application for transfer of city license from Eula M.Leidig to W.G. Mathison

The Labor and Material Bond in the amount of $135,$$0 and Performance Bond in the
amount of $271,760 written by the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Co. covering
O.R. Ochs & Son for'the construction of the new City- Administration Bldg. were presented
to theCouncil, and on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by Frank V.Woodd it was ordered
the bonds be approved and surety accepted.

On motion of Kline Williams, seconded by Wm. O.Hall it was ordered that all

bids received on Comprehensive Public Liabilitv and Property Damage Insurance be rejected
and Citv Clerk instructed to call for Informal Bids on Comprehensive Liability Insurance
and Fleet Insurance-- Bids to be opened November 20th, 1950 at 7:30 P.M.
It was moved by Frank V.Woods, seconded by Timothy I. O'Reilly that James
Custer be emploved as part time maintenance man in the Police Dept. at a salary of $140.00
per month as of Oct. 1, 1950.
On motion e)f Wm. O.Hall, seconded by Kline Williams, it was ordered that Walter
Long be employed as CLERK OF THE WORKS covering the period of the City Hall construction
at the rate. of $340.00 per month as of Oct. 16th, 1950.
Communication from Dr. Horace Hagen requesting -the City Council to accept the
streets in the Hagen subdivision and the placing of appropriate street signs designating
the street names and on motion of Frank V.Woods, seconded by Kline Williams it was
ordered the streets be accepted.
The matter of street signs were referred to the Citv Engineer, with power to act
on motion of Frank V. Woods, seconded by D. M. Carpenter.
Communication from the Division of Highways, submitting Freeway Agreement in
duplicate pertaining to State Highway Road between the South City Limits and the East
Citv Limits, was presented to theCouncil and on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by
Timothv I. O'Reilly it was ordered that Broad Street be designated as a Truck Route to
the Freeway and Chorro Street, to remain open upon the following roll call vote:
