City Hall, Recreation Center Bldg. Monday April 2, 1951 - 7:30 P.M.
The City Council met in regular session; Mayor Timothy I.O'Reilly presiding.
Present: lmlm.0.Hall, Timothy I. O'Reilly, Kline Williams
Absent: D.M.Cgrpenter, Frank V. Woods
The Minutes of the meeting of March 19, 1951 were approved.
First order of business:
This being the time set as per advertised Notice for Public Auction of one (1)
1946 DeSoto 6 cyl, 4 door Sedan, License No.: Exempt 58085. No written bids were received.
The Mayor then conducted oralb.idding from the floor. The highest bid submitted was offered
by Joseph Ries in theamount of $150.00. It was moved by Wm.O.Hall, seconded by Kline
Williams, the bid of Joseph Ries be accepted.
This being the time set as per advertised Notice for receiving bids for furnishing
all materials, labor and services for the construction of a stucco dwelling, 32' x 431
to be constructed iri the :.vicinity'bfnt.he new Filtration Plant,- the following bids were
.::received and publicly opened and read;
1 - Eugene Jackson Amt. 9238.00
2 - Wilson Construction Co. 9820.00
3 - P.J. Zuiderweg 109500.00
After review and study, the bids were referred to the Commissioner of Public
Works for report.
The following reports were ordered received and filed on motion of Kline Williams,
seconded by Timothy I. O'Reilly:

The application of Arroyo Elecyric for registration as a Class "E" Contractor

to g etherwith U. S. Fidelity andGuaranty Co. bond in the amount of $500 and registration
fee of $15.00 received and on motion of kline Williams, seconded by Wm. O.Hall,it was
ordered that the surety be accepted, bond approved and registration granted.
Tr,e Merchandising Bond written by the U.S.Fidelity and Guaranty Co. in the amount
of $ 200 for U.S.Metals Products Co. as principal, was approved but the issuance of City
License was held over awaiting report from Building Inspector.
Claims for the month of March were ordered paid, subject to the approval of the
heads of the department and the Mayor.
Applic2tioncf Wm. M. Zellner for Taxicab License for 2 cars was referred to the
Commissioner of Public Health and Safety on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by
Timothy I. O'Reilly.
Communications:
Communicationfrom Soroptomist Club Re: tree planting program was referred to the Plan-
ning, Commission on motion of Wm.0.Hall, seconded by Kline-Williams.
Communication received from City Engineer, G.H.Hamlin, Re: "Street Stop Signs" was
referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for study and report.

Communication from American Legion Post 66 Re: Carnival License was referred to the
Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, with power to act, on motion of Wm.0.Hall,
seconded by Kline Williams.
Payment No. 4 in the amount of $62,991.40 to the Maino Construction Co. on the Water
Filtration Plant project, anal Progress Payment No. 5, in the amount of $350.00 to
Wm. Holdredge on the City Hall project, were approved by the Council on motion of Wm.
0. Hall, seconded by Kline Williams..
