Resolution No. 1014 (New 'Series) - A Resolution declaring the results of
the Election held on April 2, 1951 was passed and adopted on motion of Frank V.Woods,
seconded byKline Williams upon the following roll call vote:
Ayes: D.M.Carpenter, Timothy I.O'Reilly, Kline Williams, frank V. Woods
Noes: None
Absent: Wm. 0. Hall
Communication from A.L.and Hilda Ferrini petitioning the Council for immediate -
action toward the annexation of property into the corporate limits was referred o; the
City Attorney to e f.fect the proper action on motion of Frank Woods, seconded by D:M:=
Carpenter.
Pavment No.l in the amount of $7569.00 to Walter Bros. on the Santa Barbara
Ave.Contract was approved and work accepted , on motion of D.M.Carpenter, seconded by
Kline Williams.
On motion of Kline Wii/lliams, seconded by Frank V.Woods the meeting adjourned.

The following matters were held over for full Board meeting; -.
Communication from City Recreation Commission Re: resignation of Mr. Lucksinger
from the commission.
Communication from City Recration Commission Re: Disposal of Victoria Street playlot.
Communication from Freeman Si PT. Service requesting permission to erect bulletin board on
C.A. Maino property was granted on motion of Frank V.Woods, seconded by Kline Williams.
Communication from Miles Sanders requesting permission for change of taxi
Location was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation
and report on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by Timothy I. O'Reilly.
Application of Chas. 'Babcock, 1128 Morro St. for taxicab license for 2 cabs
was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report
on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by Timothy I. O'Reilly.
Claims against the City for the month of April was ordered paid subject to the
approval of the heads of the respective departments and the Mayor.
The following matters were referred to the City Attorney for report:
Application of Al G. ?Fright, 1328 Osos St. for exempt city license
Communication from Dorothy J. Waterbury, petitioning for annexation was referred to the
Citv Attornev on motion of Frank V.Woods, seconded by Timothy I. O'Reilly.
Ordinance No. 345 (New Series) An Ordinance prohibiting the sale and
regulating the discharge of fireworks and other pyrotechnic displays in the City of
San Luis Obispo was passed to print on motion of Frank V. Woods, seconded by Kline Williams)
upon the following roll call vote:
Ayes: Timothy I. O'Reilly, Kline Williams, Frank V. Woods
Noes: None
Absent: D.M.Cgrpenter, Wm. 0. Hall
Request of Maino Construction Co. for payment No. 5 on the Filtration Plant
Contract in the amount of $42,605.37 was presented to the Council and on motion of Kline
Williams, seconded by Timothy I. O'Reilly, same was approved and accepted and payment
authorized.
Old Business
The application of Asher B. Shaw, dba " Deluxe Cab Co." at 1035 Monterey St.
for 2 cabs was granted on motion of Frank V.Woods, seconded by Kline Williams.
The following matters were held over pending Council action:
1 - Petition filed by Chas. J. Parish et al Re: house at 878 Walnut St. to be removed
2 - Petition filed by Jose Ariaz et al Re: street light
3 - Comm. from James Custer requesting reinstatement in the Police Dept.
Communicationfrom Fred Lucksinger, Fiesta President, requesting permission
for street dance on May•17; 1951, was granted on moti.on.of Frank V.Woods,, seconded by
Kline Williams.
On motion of Kline Williams, seconded by Frank V.Woods the bonds written by the
Fidelity and Casualty Co. of New York covering Eugene Jackson for material and performance
bonds were approved and surety accepted.
At the request of Vance D. Lewis of the U.S.N.R. that the Council petition
Congressman Bramblett andSenators Nixon and Knowland for,Federal approval of a $300,000
Naval Reserve Armory in San Luis Obispo, Mayor O'Reilly was authorized to send appropriate
wires to 111ashington D.C. urging approval, on motion of Frank V.Woods, seconded by Kline
IWilliams.
Mayor O'Reilly appointed Allan R.Ochs a member of the Library Board, and on
Imotion of Kline Williams, seconded by Frank V. Woods, the appointment was approved.
On motion of Kline Williams, seconded by Frank V. Woods the City Attorney
