On motion of Frank Woods, seconded by Kline Williams the meeting adjourned to
Tuesday, Mav 15, 1951 at 7:30 P.M. upon the following roll call vote:

The Council met in adjourned session; Mayor Timothy I.0'Reilly presiding.
Present: D.M.Carpenter, Timothy I.O'Reilly, Kline Williams, Frank V. Woods
Absent: 1.1m. 0. Hall
Communication from Recreation Commission submitting resignation of Fred
Lucksincrer from the Park, Playground and Recreation Commission was presented to the
Council and on motion of D.M.Crpenter, seconded by Kline Williams, the resignation was
accepted.
The following matters were ordered received and filed:
Communication from Miles SPnders'-"Re:' Taxi zone
Communication from Dorothv J. Waterbury Re: annexation
Communication from James Custer Re::reinstatement in Police Dept.
Petition from Jose Ariaz et al requesting street lights at the corner of Victoria.and
Humbert St.
Communication from the Park, Playground and Recreation Commission Re:
disposal of Victoria Street playlot was held over.
Application of Chas. Babcock for Taxicab License ( 2 cabs) at 1128 Morro St. was
granted on motion of Frank V. Woods, seconded by Kline Williams.
Resolution No. 1015 (New Series) - A Resolution of the City Council of the
City of San Lu s Obispo County of San Luis Obispo, relative to the Annexation of certain
uninhabited territory to the Citu of SanLuis Obispo was passed and adopted on motion of
D.M.Carpenter, seconded by Frank V.Woods upon the following roll call vote:
Ayes: D.M.Carpenter, Timothy I. O'Reilly, Kline Williams, Frank V. Woods
Noes: None
Absent: Wm.O. Hall
Ordinance No. 345 (New Series) - An Ordinance prof}ibiting the sale and regu-
lating the discharge of fireworks and other pyrotechnic displsays in the City of San
Luis Obispn was finally passed on motion of D.M.Carpenter, seconded by Frank V. Woods
upon the following roll call vote:
Ayes: D.M.Carpenter,r7imothy I. O'Reilly, Kline Williams, Frank V. Woods
Noes: None
Absent: Wm. 0. Hall
On motion of Frank V.WoodsI seconded by D.M.Carpenter and by common consent
of the Council, they recessed at this time in order that the incoming Councirlmen may
take their seats.

The members elected having previously taken the Oath of Office, their Official

The Council now proceeded to organize as a new Council as of May 15, 1951:
For Commissioner of Public Works,- D.M.Carpenter was placed in nomination by Mayor
O'Reilly
For Commissioner of Public Health and Safety - Frank V.Woods was placed in nomination
by Mayor O'Reilly
For Commissioner of Finance - Paul W. Davis was placed in nomination by Mayor O'Reilly
For Commissioner of Supplies - Fred Lucksinger was placed in_ nomination by Mayor O'Reill
For Vice- Presidnt of the Council,- D.M.Carpenter was placed in nomination by Mayor O'Reilly
On motion of D.M.Carpenter, seconded by Frank V.Woods it was moved that the
nominations'be accepted and approved upon the following roll call vote:
Aves: D.M.Carpenter, Paul W.Davis, Fred Lucksinger,, Timothy I. O'Reilly, Frank V.Woods
Noes: None
Absent-: None
On motion of Paul W.Davis, seconded by Frank V.Woods it was ordered that the
request of O.R.Ochs & Son for Payment No. 7 onthe CityHall project be authorized, and
the work was approved and accepted.
The City Clerk was instructed to call for Bids on (1) Johnson Ave. water line
and (2) Santa Rosa St. !cater line -- bids to be opened June 4, 1951 at 7:30 P.M.
On motion of D.M.Carpenter, seconded by Frank V.Woods, the meeting adjourned.
