Comm. from the Annual Air Fiesta.requesting . cooperation.of the City Council in preparing
their second annual air fiesta.,. September 22 and 23, 1956. The City Clerk was instructed
to clear all requests for the fiesta.
Comm. from E. C. Anderson, former police officer of the City. of San Luis Obispo, requesti
that his dismissal from the City Police Department. be reviewed by the City Council.
On motion of Warren G. Edwards, seconded by Kenneth W. Jones, the communication from E.
C. Anderson was' ordered received and filed and the request for another hearing was denied
as Mr. Anderson had the privilege of a public council hearing on August 1, 1955, at which
time the City Council unanimously upheld the action of the Administrative Officer in dis-
missing Mr. E. C. Anderson. The City Clerk was instructed to inform Mr. Anderson of the
Council's decision.
Mr. Harry Lacterman, representing- the Chamber of Commerce, thanked the Council for. their
"' consideration in closing Garden St. for the merchants promotional event, which was very
successful.
On motion of Kenneth W. Jones, seconded by Nels Beck, the meeting was adjourned to July 23
1956, 7:30 P.M.

Mr. Miller, City Administrative Officer, recommended to the Council that after study and
comparison of all bids, that the bid of the above . project be awarded to Valley Paving Co.
for combined total -of 434,655.55.
On motion of Nels Beck, seconded by Lowell E. Christie, the recommendation of the Administ
Officer was accepted.
(2) Construction of Sanitary Sewer Relief Line; Nipomo, Dana and Higuera Streets.

Mr. Richard D. Miller, Administrative Officer recommended to the Council that after study.
and comparison of all bids received, that the bid be awarded to the low bid of W. M. Lyles
Co. for Unit 1, sum of $34,766.35, and Unit 2 be awarded to 0. R. Ochs & Son for a total
of 44,620.00.
On motion of Kenneth W. Jones, seconded by Lowell E. Christie, the recommendation of the
Administrative Officer was accepted.
(3) Water Supply Line and California Blvd. Waterline, Project No. W56 -1.

Mr. Richard D. Miller, City Administrative Officer, recommended to the Council that after
