The City Council met in adjourned meeting with Councilman Kenneth W. Jones presiding.

The City Clerk reported on the following bids received and opened for furnishing one
four -door sedan to the City of San Luis Obispo:
/'. 1. Hysen- Johnson Ford .Company $ 164$.32 plus tax
2. Mel Smith Chevrolet Company 1781.93 plus.tax
On recommendation.of.Richard D. Miller, Administrative Officer, that the bid of Hysen-
Johnson Ford Company be accepted, it was moved by Richard G. Sleight, seconded by J.
Barry Smith that the bid of Hysen- Johnson Ford Company be accepted.
X Mr. Miller, Administrative Officer, announced the promotion of Anthony Juarez to Civil
Engineering Associate in the City.Engineers Department.
Proposal from Orrick, Dahlquist, Herrington & Sutcliffe to handle the legal proceedings
for the off - street parking district was accepted by the Council.
Resolution No. 266 (1957 Series) A Resolution Hiring Legal Counsel for the Off- Street
Parking District was passed and adopted on motion of J. Barry Smith, seconded by
Richard G. Sleight by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Kenneth W. Jones, Richard G. Sleight, J. Barry Smith
NOES: None
ABSENT: Nels Beck., Fred H. Lucksinger
Mr. Miller, Administrative Officer, presented to the Council a revised report by D.
Fac,, Jackson Faustman on the off - street parking district in downtown San Luis Obispo. The
report was ordered received and filed on motion of Richard G. Sleight, seconded by J.
Barry Smith.
