57- 11 -3T: The police department has noted a'dangerous condition at the Corner of Morro
Street and Santa Barbara Avenue, particularly with the increase in heavy truck trafficel
on Santa Barbara and the acute angle at which Morro enters that street. It is therefore
recommended that a stop sign be authorized on Morro stopping Morro Street traffic at
Santa Barbara Avenue.
57- 11 -4T: The Committee has noted that there is not enough red zone at the corner of Chor
and Marsh to allow south bound traffic on Chorro to make a right hand turn onto Marsh. We
feel this could be remedied by the elimination of a third parking meter and painting the
curb red. It is also suggested that the existing 12 minute parking meter be moved back on
space if this is done.
The following Resolution No. 310 (1957 Series) A Resolution Establishing Certain-Parking
and Traffic Regulations, was passed and adopted.on motion of Nels Beck, seconded by J.
Barry Smith, by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Nels Beck, Kenneth W. Jones, Richard G. Sleight, J. Barry Smith, Fred H. Lucksinger
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
Ordinance No. 62 (1957 Series) An Ordinance Amending Section 3200.3 of the San Luis Obisp
Municipal Code, Truck Routes, was introduced and passed to print on motion of Nels Beck,
seconded by Richard G. Sleight, by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Nels Beck, Kenneth W. Jones, Richard G. Sleight, J. Barry Smith; Fred H. Lucksinger
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
On motion of Richard G. Sleight, seconded by Kenneth W. Jones, Mr. Miller Administrative
Officer, and Mr. Gullickson, Assistant Director of Civil Defense for the 6ity of San Luis
Obispo, were authorized to attend a State Civil Defense meeting in Los Angeles on November
21, 1957.
The matter of traffic and parking on Chorro between Pismo and Pacific was referred to the
Traffic Committee for further study.
On motion of Nels Beck, seconded by Richard G. Sleight, authority was granted to advertise
for replacement of motor vehicles as approved in the 1957 -58 budget.
On motion of Kenneth W. Jones, seconded by Richard G. Sleight, authority was granted..to
hold action on surplus equipment sale to be held 9 December 1957.
Comm. from the County Health Department regarding amendment to Municipal Code to more
clearly describe requirements as far as the keeping of domestic animals within the City of
San Luis Obispo was referred to the Council for further study.
Resolution No. 3 11 (1957 Series) A Resolution Authorizing City Clerk to Accept and Record
Grant Deed of roperty from Nebraska Lands, Inc., was introduced and passed to print on
motion of Richard G. Sleight, seconded by Nels Beck, by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Nels Beck, Kenneth W. Jones, Richard G. Sleight, J. Barry Smith, Fred H. Lucksinger
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
Comm. from Orrick, Dahlquist, Herrington & Sutcliffe regarding City of San Luis Obispo
parking district was ordered received and filed after being briefed by the City Attorney.
On motion of Kenneth W. Jones, seconded by Nels Beck, the regular meeting of the City
Council for December 2, 1957, was cancelled as members of the City Council will be
attending the American Municipal Association Conference in San Francisco, so the City
Council will meet.'on December 9, 1957.
On motion of Nels Beck, seconded by Richard G. Sleight, the meeting adjourned.

Mr. Robert Edmongon of the Department of Water Resources appeared before the Council and
reported to Me Council on theprogress to date of the Whale Rock Dam Project, including
the preparation of plans and specifications for the construction; "land surveys for dam and
pipe line right of way; and property acquisitions and problems related thereto.
