Miller, that the City install at the intersection of Broad and Marsh Street, and Broad and Higuera Street, street signs pointing the direction of the San Luis Obispo Country Club, as many people are now using the facility from out of town and do not know where to turn off. 47. City Engineer Romero presented to the City Council a report of the Small Subdivision Committee stating that the City Council must approve.any and all lots in excess of 150 feet in depth and that in the small subdivision proposed by Brownstein, all lots are in excess of 150'. Mr. Romero recommended that the City Council authorize this exception. On motion of Donald Q. Miller, seconded by J. Barry Smith, the exceptions , to the lot depth was granted. 48. City Engineer Romero requested permission to have the eucalyptus trees which will fall within the future right -of -way on Laurel Lane at Orcutt Road removed as he has an opportunity to have them removed at a reasonable cost to the City. After discussion by the City Council, it was brought out that the land on which the trees grow is still owned by private owners. It was the common consent of the Council that no action be taken on removing the trees on private property. 49. R. L. Graves, Jr., Councilman - Elect, thanked the retiring Mayor and Councilmen for the good work they accomplished during their term of office and their devotion to the City. 50. Mr. Lacey Lambert thanked the City Council for their cooperation and patience with the residents of the Yoakum area in trying to establish a special assessment district in the area. On motion of Gerald W. Shipsey, seconded by Donald Q. Miller, the meeting adjourned. Approved this 1st day of May, 1961. City .0 : CITY COUNCIL MEETING April 18, 1961 CITY HALL The City Council met in Regular Session to canvass the returns of the General Municipal Election held April 11, 1961 in accordance with Section 9918 et. seq. of the California Election Laws, Vice -Mayor Kenneth 1.7. Jones presiding. ROLL CALL: Present - Kenneth W. Jones, Donald Q. Miller, Gerald W. Shipsey, I Absent - J. Barry Smith, Fred M. Waters. CITY STAFF PRESENT: City Clerk Fitzpatrick, City Attorney Houser, Administrative Officer Miller, Norma Smith, David Ulansky, Mayme Vogt. The City Council then adjourned to the County of San Luis Obispo warehouse to check the voting machines used in the Municipal Election and to verify votes cast. The City Council and staff reviewed the report of votes cast submitted by the Precinct Boards on April 11, 1961, and verified counters on the voting machines.. No discrepancies between the votes cast and the counters on the voting machines were found.
