City Council of receipt of Resolution relating to Sections 188.8 and-188.9
Streets and Highway Code was ordered received and filed.
33. On motion of Councilman Shipsey, seconded by Councilman Graves, Councilman
Miller was authorized to leave the State from July 5, to July 22 as requested.
34. Mayor Davidson brought to the Council's attention the problem of motorists
using one way streets, turning into two way streets with the belief that
all streets are one way and are then traveling on the wrong side of the
street. The City Engineer was requested to look into the matter for a
recommendation to the City Council on methods to clear up this matter.
35. The Administrative Officer was instructed to draft a Resolution thanking
the Citizesn Committee for-working on the sewer and water bond project.
On motion of Councilman Shipsey, seconded by Councilman Graves, the meeting
adjourned to 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, June 6,•1962.

1. Mayor Davidson introduced for the Council's consideration, the possibility
of starting the sewer plant enlargement program immediately on the basis of
the successful bond issue passed by the - voters of San Luis Obispo. He
suggested that the City proceed with construction of the sewer plant by using
funds other than the bond proceeds by either short time borrowing or from
financial institutions borrowing against - future tax collection.
Mayor Davidson urged the City Council to call for bids soon as possible so
that a contract could be let and work started.
R. D. Miller presented - communication from State Water Pollution Control
Board which'listed the list of applications for Federal Construction Grants
under P L 660 for the 1962 -63 fiscal year which showed San Luis Obispo as
34th on the priority A list.
Mayor Davidson urged the Council to consider immediate construction of the
sewer plant.enlargement.
On motion of Councilman Graves, seconded by Councilwoman McNeil, the City to
proceed to call for bids subject to the following:
1. If the advance construction would not hurt the Federal Grant.
2. Approval by the State and Health Department.
