The City Council discussed the matter of the street width on Higuera Street, particularly on the east s'de of Higuera south of South Street where the Standard Oil Company is constructi:il; a na,.: service station, and the City Council was asked to consider reducing t:e sidewalk t)idth at this location from ter. (10) feet to six (6) feet. After discussion by the Council and the staff, it was 1rioved IbY .1ayor Davidson, seconded by C ouncilmsr. The City Council then discussed the probable construction on the opposite corner on th3 northeast corner ol the intersection and the necessity of setting back the curb and gutter to achieve :maximum widening. On motion of Councilman 6Jhelchel, seconded. by Councilman _:filler, that the City Council begin ne:,otiatians to extend the four 4 foot street widening on the east side of Higuera north of South Street and to the Blue Chip Building. Motion carried. 2. R. D. _Miller, Administrative Officer, presented to the City Council specifications for purchase by the City of one used track type tractor equipped 1•rlth b-•,lldozer, 19-56 model, or later, and requesteL'_ authoriza- tion to call for bids on this piece of equipment. Cn motion of Councilman Graves, seconded by. Cou:-ciloroman McNeil, the specifications were approved and the Adminiotrative Officer was authorized to call for bids to be opened October 7, 1963.
