ADJOURNED MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL
November 20, 1963 - 6 :30 P. M.
CITY HALL
Roll Call
Present: Clay P. Davidson, R. L. Graves, Jr., Miss Margaret McNeil,
Donald Q. Miller, Cleli W. Whelchel
City Staff
Present: J. H. Fitzpatrick, City Clerk; W. M. Houser, City Attorney;
R. D. Miller, Administrative Officer.
The City Council met with Mr. Robert McGuire and Don Blue, representing McGuire
and Associates, who explained the services offered by their firm in bringing in
funds to develop new commercial operations in the City.
Mr. McGuire stated that his firm represents lenders, insurance companies, oil
companies, pension funds, etc., who were looking for places to invest idle funds.
He stated that most fees his firm would receive would come from these sources.
However, they would also be in a position to represent the City, dtrectly or
indirectly, in contacting other investors. He stated that his company's job would
be to act as a go-between for developments such as the Mission Plaza to mice studies
for their clients and make presentations to financial institutions on the feasibility
of the project, which would include ways and means of recovering their capital.
The City Council discussed various facets of the Mission Plaza Development and
comments were made by McGuire and Associates based on past experience.
On motion of Councilwoman McNeil, seconded by Councilman Whelchel, the meeting
adjourned at 8:00 P. M.

CITY HALL
The City Council meeting was adjourned in memory of the President of the United
States, John F. Kennedy, deceased. Meeting to reconvene on Tuesday, November 26,
1963, at 7:30 P. M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 990 Palm Street,
San Luis Obispo, California.
