Miller, Arthur F..Spring, Clell W. Whelchel City Staff ' Present: J. H. Fitzpatrick, City Clerk; W. M. Houser, City Attorney; R. D. Miller, Administrative Officer; D: F. Romero, City Engineer; P..Chapman, Planning -and Building Director Mayor Whelchel wished it to be.,noted.in -the minutes that the.City Council notes that this was the date of the anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. 3. Request from the.Salvation Army for.permission to place Christmas kettles on the sidewalks of San Luis Obispo manned by Salvation Army personnel.., On motion of Councilman Blake, seconded by Councilman Gallagher, the request was approved. Motion carried. 2. The following report from the.Traffic. Committee._was considered by the,City Council. 65- 11 -15C. The Traffic Committee has met with representatives from the bus company and has received a report fromi - the City Engineer commenting on the various proposed locations for bus loading zones. It is our recommendation that the following zones be established and painted a white solos : . 1. On Higuera at Parking Lot No. 6 west of the first driveway from.Osos. 2. On the. north side of Higuera west of Chorro.in front of the Economy Drug Store resulting in the moving of the existing A & M Cab zone one space to the west, ...thus•elimi-nating one.parking meter space. 3. On the east side of Chorro north of Higuera, eliminating two parking meter spaces,.moving the Yellow Cab zone to the third space from the corner and the existing 12 minute zone to the fourth space from the corner. 4. On the north side of Higuera east of Nipomo in front of the Imperial Muffler establishment, with -no parking meter spaces being lost.. 5. On the south side of Marsh east of Chorro eliminating two parking meter spaces in front of the Crocker- Citizens National Bank. 6. On the south side of Marsh east of Chorro, eliminating two parking meter spaces in front of the Riley's Department Store Parking Lot. 7. On the south side of Marsh west of Osos, eliminating one parking meter space in front of the Shell Station. Suggestion was made that item 5 be changed to read: On the south side of Marsh east of Broad eliminating two metered spaces in front of the Rexall Drug Store. On motion of Councilman Blake, seconded by Councilman Gallagher, the following resolution was introduced with change in number 5. Resolution No. 1497; a resolutio:• establishing bus zones in the City of San Luis Obispo. Passed and adopted on the following roll call vote. AYES: Emmons Blake, Donald Q. Miller, Frank Gallagher, Arthur F. Spring, Clell W. Whelchel NOES: None ABSENT: None 1. At this time the City Council discussed the proposed parking lot program for acquisition and development of additional parking facilities in the Central Business District.
