Miller, Arthur F. Spring, Kenneth E. Schwartz City Staff Present: J. H. Fitzpatrick, City Clerk; R. D. Miller, Administrative Officer. 1. City Council reviewed the priority schedule (3/18/71) for street work prepared by the City Engineer for the fiscal year 1971/72. The projects are broken down into three (3) catagories: A - Select System Streets (Financed by State Gas Tax) B - Local Streets (Financed by Local Fund) C - Chip Seal Projects and further, each street is listed in the order of priority taking into consideration the cost, condition of the street and amount of traffic on the street, thereby establishing a cost - benefit ratio. Following discussion the Council rearranged priority "A" Select System Streets as follows: WIDENINGS 1. Foothill Boulevard (Lownes) 2. San Luis Drive at Johnson (School District & Taylor) 3. Johnson Avenue (Hathaway) 4. Johnson Avenue (Ekegren) 5. Madonna Road, Northside (Cal.le Joaquin to Lake) AA =1 - Higuera - South to Madonna Road A -3 - Laurel Lane - Orcutt Road to Johnson Avenue Priority "B" Local Streets as follows: B -1 - Serrano (Broad to Serrano Heights), continued to 1972/73 fiscal year. B -2 & B -3 - City Engineer authorized to prepare plans and specifications. Priority "C" Chip Seal Projects City Council approved City Engineer's priority in principle and final approval continued to Budget Study Session for allocation of funds, t review of the 1971 72 Capital Improvement Plan 2. Miller reviewed with the City Council the steps taken to date in up- dating the C.I.P., starting in January 1971 with the recommendation from the various departments and commissions, then with the recast by the Administrative Officer based on the recommendations of the departments and commissions. Miller continued that the report contains three major categories: 1. 1970/71 projects completed during the fiscal year. 2.• 1970/71 projects that have been funded and are either under construction or in the planning stage. 3. Projects which have not yet been funded. On motion of.Councilman Spring, seconded by Councilman Blake, . the meeting adjourned to 12:10 P.M., Monday, April 12, 1971. Motion carried.
