Conference Room - City Hall Present: Emmons Blake, John C. Brown, Myron Graham, T. Keith Gurnee, Kenneth E. Schwartz Present: J. H. Fitzpatrick, City Clerk; R. D. Miller, Administrative Officer; A. J. Shaw, Jr., City Attorney. 1. R. D. Miller, Administrative Officer, presented for Council consideration, a proposal to retain by contract, an engineer or architect, on a part -time basis (Maximum of four (4) hours per day) to check plans prior to issuance of a building permit. This contract employee would be paid from the plan check fees paid by applicants. Mr. Miller continued that the proposal had been approved by the County Building Contractors' Association, and finally, that this persons would work directly under Ronald Young, Director of Planning and Building, and would receive his assignmentss from him. The City Council approved the proposal of the Administrative Officer. 2. The City Council approved the request from the merchants of Higuera, Garden, Broad and Marsh Streets whose businesses connect to Garden Alley, to hold a "Garden Alley Sale" on June 3, 1972, and that. they be allowed-to close the alley for the sale. 3. The City Council continued their study of the 1972/73 City Budget prepared by the Administrative Officer beginning with page seventy -seven (77) through page one - hundred fifty six (156) inclusive. 4. On motion of Councilman Blake, seconded by Councilman Brown, the meeting was adjourned to Wednesday, May 31, 1972 at 12:15 P. M. Motion carried. APPROVED: June 19, 1972 H: ATRICK, CITY CLERK
