ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL

WEDNESDAY, JULY 7; 1976 - 12:20 P.M.

E. Schwartz
ABSENT: Jesse Norris and Steven Petterson

PRESENT: J. Safron and_Lee Mitchell, representing Stone
and Youngberg, financial consultants
1. The City Council discussed with-staff and the representatives
of Stone and.Youngberg, ways and.means of providing additional automobile
parking in the central business district of San Luis.Obispo particularly
1) City and county cooperative parking facilities.in the general vicinity
of the courthouse.and City Hall.and 2).some sort-of a cooperative parking
program with one or more of the.central.business district merchant groups,
Downtown Association, Business Improvement..Area.or property owners asso-
ciation: The purpose of these cooperative arrangements was to provide
necessary additional parking for employees,sshoppers and.for tourist and
visitors.
Mr. Safron and Mr. Mitchell.reviewed.for those.present the various state
laws dealing with parking, parking facilities and parking authorities.
Theyaatso briefly reviewed what has happened in other cities and counties
under these various parking statues.
2. On-motion of Councilman Graham, seconded by Councilman Gurnee,
the meeting adjourned at 2:20 p.m..to 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 12, 1976 in
the Council Chambers. Motion carried. Councilmen Norris and Petterson
absent.
